The "back" of the Eastern Gate. "He brought me back by the way (ha-derekh) of the outer gate of the sanctuary, which looks toward the east; and it was shut.... The prince, he shall sit therein as prince to eat bread before YHWH." Ezek. 44:1,3 |

Wouldn't YOU like to know more about these "Jewish" Holy Days? (Notice the final pronoun in the second verse!)
ON CHRISTIAN-JEWISH RELATIONS and a DEMONSTRATION OF THE POWER OF THE MOST HIGH:
"Thus says YHWH of hosts: In those (last days) [approaching rapidly] it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the goyim (nations), even shall take hold of the corners of the garment of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that Elohim is with you. -- Zech. 8:23
And a woman who had been suffering from a hemorrhage for twelve years, came up behind Him and touched the
fringe of His cloak; for she was saying to herself, "If I only touch His garment, I will get well."
These two scriptures show us that there is power in the Word of YHWH. Written into the Torah ("law") of Moses is a command to put an outward sign on our garments which we may look on to remind us of His commandments. King Shlomo (Solomon) reminds us that the Torah is
the way of life.
So how is this relevant to non-Jewish believers in Yeshua/Jesus today? Paul told us that being Jewish is not the outward appearance (Rom. 2:29), but is in the heart. And we are of the
"commonwealth (citizenship) of Israel" and no longer goyim (gentiles). WE WERE gentiles but are now brought near by the blood of the Messiah.
How does the Torah apply to us today who were not born Jewish?
"The
doers of the Law (Torah) shall be justified." I
know many will argue with that, but it's what the Bible says.
Can you argue with the Author?
"That
God's
word damns your ceremonies, it is
evident; for the plain and straight commandment of God is, 'Not that thing
which appears good in thy eyes, shalt thou do to the Lord thy God, but
what the Lord thy God has commanded thee, that do thou: add nothing to it;
diminish nothing from it.'
"That God's word damns your ceremonies,
it is evident; for the plain and straight commandment of God is,
'Not that thing which appears good in thy eyes, shalt thou do to the Lord thy God, but what
the Lord thy God has commanded thee, that do thou: add nothing to it; diminish nothing from
it.' [] Now
unless that ye are able to prove that God has commanded your ceremonies, this his former
commandment will damn both you and them." ~John Knox's History of the Reformation in
Scotland
Has God commanded us to observe:
The Festival of
Tabernacles (Lev. 23:34) -- or -- ~ Christmas ~?
The Day of Atonement (Lev. 23:27) -- or -- Lent?
Passover (Lev. 23:5) -- or --
~ Easter ~?
The seventh day, the Sabbath, as holy (Lev. 23:3) -- or -- the day of the SUN?
(I'll give you a hint: The Catholic Church COMMANDED the second of each choice.)
