IGGERET HA-SHENIT L'YOCHANAN HA-SHALIACH
Letter, the Second, of John the Sent One

or at the bottom of Yirmeyahu.

"Adonai" is reserved to refer to YHWH.  "Ha-Adon" may be ambiguous for YHWH or Yeshua.

1 Ha-zaqen, to the elect lady and her y'ladim, whom I love be-emet; and not I only, but also all those who know ha-emet;  2 for the sake of ha-emet, which remains in us, and it will be with us l`olam:

3 Chesed, mercy, v'shalom will be with us, from Elohim ha-Av and from Adoneinu Yeshua ha-Mashiach, Ben ha-Av, b'emet v'ha-ahavah.

4 I rejoice greatly that I have found some of your y'ladim walking ba-emet, even as we received mitzvah from ha-Av.  5 Now I beg you, dear lady, not as though I wrote to you a mitzvah chadashah, but that which we had me-rosh, that we love one another.  6 Zot hi ha-ahavah, that we should walk according to his mitzvot.  Zot hi ha-mitzvah, even as you heard me-rosh, that you should walk in it.  7 For many deceivers have gone out into ha`olam, those who don't confess that Yeshua ha-Mashiach came ba-basar.  This is the deceiver and the opposite of7 ha-Mashiach.  8 Watch yourselves, that we don't lose the things which we have accomplished, but that we receive a full reward.  9 Whoever transgresses and doesn't remain b'Torat ha-Mashiach doesn't have Elohim.  He who remains b'Torat ha-Mashiach, the same has gam ha-Av gam ha-Ben.  10 If anyone comes to you and doesn't bring ha-Torah hazot, don't receive him into your bayit, and don't welcome him,  11 for he who welcomes him participates in his ma`asim ra`im.

12 Having many things to write to you, I don't want to do so with paper and ink, but I hope to come to you, and to speak peh el-peh, that our simchah may be shalom.

13 Ha-y'ladim of your chosen achot greet you.  Amein.

IGGERET HA-SHLISHIT L'YOCHANAN HA-SHALIACH
Letter, the Third, of John the Sent One

1 Ha-zaqen el-Gayos the beloved, whom I love be-emet.

2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all (things) and be healthy, even as your nefesh prospers.  3 For I rejoiced greatly, when achim came and testified about your emet, even as you walk ba-emet.  4 I have no greater simchah than this, to hear about my y'ladim walking ba-emet.

5 Beloved, you do b'emunah whatever you work for ha-achim and strangers.  6 They have testified about your ahavah before ha`edah.  You will do well to send them forward on their journey in a manner worthy of Elohim,  7 because for the sake of Sh'mo they went out, taking nothing from ha-goyim.  8 We, therefore, ought to receive such, that we may be fellow workers for ha-emet.

9 I wrote to ha`edah, but Diotrephēs, who loves to be first among them, doesn't accept what we say.  10 Therefore, if I come, I will call attention to his ma`asim which he does, unjustly accusing us with wicked d'varim.  Not content with this, neither does he himself receive ha-achim, and those who would, he forbids and throws out of ha`edah.

11 Beloved, don't imitate that which is evil, but that which is good.  He who does good is of Elohim.  He who does evil hasn't seen Elohim.  12 trios has ha`edut ha-kol, and of ha-emet itself; yes, we also testify, and you know that our `edut is emet.

13 I had many things to write to you, but I am unwilling to write to you with ink and pen;  14 but I hope to see you soon, and we will speak peh el-peh.

15 Shalom be to you.  The friends greet you.  Greet the friends by name.
