CHAPTER 1

1:1 Sha'ul, `eved Yeshua ha-Mashiach, called to be a shaliach, separated liv'sorat Elohim,  2 which he promised before through his nevi'im b'Khitvei ha-Kodesh,  3 `al-d'var B'no asher mi-zera David according to ha-basar,[A]4 who was declared to be Ben ha-Elohim with power,[B] according to the ruach of holiness, by t'chiyah min ha-metim, Yeshua ha-Mashiach Adoneinu,  5 through whom we received chesed u'sh'lichut, to obedience of emunah among kol ha-goyim, on behalf of his name,  6 among whom you are also the called of Yeshua ha-Mashiach.

1:7 To all who are in Romi, beloved of Elohim, called to be k'doshim: Chesed to you and shalom from Elohim Avinu va-Adoneinu Yeshua ha-Mashiach.

1:8 B'rishonah, I thank Elohai through Yeshua ha-Mashiach for all of you, that your emunah is proclaimed b'khol ha`olam.  9 For Elohim is my `ed, whom I serve in my ruach bi'v'sorat B'no, how unceasingly I make mention of you always in my prayers,  10 requesting, if by any means now at length I may be prospered by the will of Elohim to come to you.  11 For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual charisma, for the establishing of you;  12 that is, that I with you may be comforted in you, each of us by the other's emunah, both yours and mine.  13 Now I don't desire to have you unaware, achai, that I often planned to come to you, and was hindered so far, that I might have some fruit in you also, even as in the rest of ha-goyim.  14 I am debtor both to Y'vanim and to lo`azim, both to ha-chakhamim and to the foolish.  15 So, as much as is in me, I am ready to preach ha-b'sorah to you also who are b'Romi.

1:16 For I am not ashamed mi-b'sorat ha-Mashiach, for it is the power of Elohim for yeshu`ah for everyone who believes; la-Y'hudi b'rishonah, v'gam la-Y'vani.  17 For therein is revealed tzidkat Elohim me-emunah el-emunah, ka-katuv, "V'tzaddik b'emunah yikhyeh."[C]

1:18 For the wrath of Elohim is revealed min-ha-shamayim against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of b'nei adam, who hinder ha-emet in unrighteousness,  19 because that which is known by Elohim is revealed in them, for Elohim revealed it to them.  20 For the invisible things of him since the creation of ha`olam are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and elohut; that they may be without excuse.  21 Because, knowing Elohim, they didn't glorify him as Elohim, neither gave thanks, but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless heart was darkened.  22 Professing themselves to be chakhamim, they became fools,  23 and traded the glory of the incorruptible Elohim for the likeness of an image1-23 of perishable man, and of birds, and four-footed animals, and crawling things.[D]

1:24 Therefore Elohim also gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to tumah, that their bodies should be dishonored among themselves,  25 who exchanged emet ha-Elohim for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever.  Amein.

1:26 For this reason, Elohim gave them up to vile passions.  For their females changed the natural function into that which is against nature.  27 Likewise also the males, leaving the natural function of the female, burned in their lust toward one another, males doing what is inappropriate with males, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error.[E]

1:28 Even as they refused to have Elohim in their knowledge, Elohim gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting;  29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil habits, secret slanderers,  30 backbiters, hateful to Elohim, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,  31 without understanding, covenant-breakers, without natural affection, unforgiving, unmerciful;  32 who, knowing mishpat Elohim, that those who practice such things are worthy of ha-mavet, not only do the same, but also consent with those who practice them.

CHAPTER 2

2:1 Therefore, you are without excuse, ben adam, whoever you are who judge.  For in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself.  For you who judge practice the same things.  2 We know that mishpat Elohim is according to emet against those who practice such things.  3 Do you reckon this, O ben adam who judges those who practice such things, and do the same, that you will escape mishpat Elohim?  4 Or do you despise the riches of his goodness, forbearance, and patience, not knowing that the goodness of Elohim leads you to t'shuvah?  5 But according to your hardness and unrepentant heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath[A] and revelation of tzidkat mishpat Elohim;  6 who "will render to every adam according to his ma`asim:"[B]7 to those who, by patience in well-doing, seek for kavod and honor and incorruptibility, chayei `olam;  8 but to those who are self-seeking, and don't obey ha-emet, but obey unrighteousness, will be wrath and indignation,  9 oppression and anguish, on every nefesh adam who works evil, on ha-Y'hudi first, and also on ha-Y'vani.  10 But kavod and honor and shalom to everyone who works good, to ha-Y'hudi first, and also to ha-Y'vani.  11 For there is no partiality with Elohim.[C]

2:12 For as many as have sinned without Torah will also perish without Torah.  As many as have sinned under ha-Torah will be judged by ha-Torah.  13 For it isn't the hearers of ha-Torah who are tzaddikim lifnei ha-Elohim, but the doers of ha-Torah will be justified  14 (for when ha-goyim who don't have ha-Torah do by nature the things of ha-Torah, these, not having ha-Torah, are a Torah to themselves,  15 in that they show ma`aseh ha-Torah written in their hearts, their conscience testifying with them, and their thoughts among themselves accusing or else excusing them)  16 in the day when Elohim will judge the secrets of b'nei adam, according to my b'sorah, by Yeshua ha-Mashiach.

2:17 Indeed you bear the name of a Y'hudi, and rest on ha-Torah, and boast in Elohim,  18 and know his will, and approve the things that are excellent, being instructed out of ha-Torah,  19 and are confident that you yourself are a guide of the blind, ha`or to those who are in darkness,  20 a corrector of the foolish, a moreh of babies, having in ha-Torah the form of knowledge and of ha-emet.  21 Then you who teach another, don't you teach yourself?  You who preach that ben adam shouldn't steal, do you steal?  22 You who say ben adam shouldn't commit adultery, do you commit adultery?  You who abhor idols, do you rob hekhalot?  23 You who boast in ha-Torah, through your disobedience of ha-Torah do you dishonor Elohim?  24 For "shem ha-Elohim is blasphemed among ha-goyim because of you," just as it is written.[D]

2:25 For mulah indeed profits, if you are a doer of ha-Torah, but if you are a transgressor of ha-Torah, your mulah has become uncircumcision.  26 So if the uncircumcised keep mishpatei ha-Torah, won't his uncircumcision be accounted as mulah?  27 Won't the uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfills ha-Torah, judge you, who with the letter and mulah are a transgressor of ha-Torah?  28 For he is not a Y'hudi who is one outwardly, neither is that mulah which is outward ba-basar;  29 but he is a Y'hudi who is one inwardly, and mulah is that of ha-lev,[E] in ha-ruach, not in ha-k'tav; whose praise is not mi-b'nei adam, ki im-me-et ha-Elohim.

CHAPTER 3

3:1 Then what advantage does ha-Y'hudi have?  Or what is the profit of mulah?  2 Much in every way!  Because, first of all, that they were entrusted with the oracles3-2 of Elohim.  3 For what if some were without emunah?  Will their lack of emunah make of no effect emunat Elohim?  4 Chalilah!3-4 Yes, let Elohim be found true, but every adam a liar.  As it is written, "That you might be justified in your d'varim, and might prevail when you are judged."[A]5 But if our unrighteousness commends tzidkat ha-Elohim, what will we say?  Is Elohim unrighteous who inflicts wrath?  (I speak as b'nei adam do.)  6 Chalilah!  For then how will Elohim judge ha`olam?  7 For if emet Elohim through my lie abounded to his kavod, why am I also still judged as a chatta?  8 Why not (as we are slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say), "Let us do evil, that good may come?"  Of those who say so, they are justly condemned.

3:9 What then?  Are we better than they?  No, in no way.  For we previously charged gam ha-Y'hudim gam ha-Y'vanim, that they are all under ha-chet.  10 Ka katuv, "Ein tzaddik, ein gam echad.  [B]11 There is no one who understands.  There is no one who seeks after Elohim.  12 They have all turned aside.  They have together become unprofitable.  Ein `oseh tov; ein gam echad."[C]13 "Their throat is an open tomb.  With their tongues they have used deceit."  "The poison of vipers is under their lips;"  14 "Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness."[D]15 "Their feet are swift to shed blood.  16 Destruction and misery are in their ways.  17 Derekh shalom they haven't known."[E]18 "There is no fear of Elohim before their eyes."[F]

3:19 Now we know that whatever things ha-Torah says, it speaks to those who are under ha-Torah, that every mouth may be closed, and kol ha`olam may be brought under mishpat Elohim.  20 Because by ma`asei ha-Torah, no basar will be justified in his sight.[G]  For through ha-Torah comes the knowledge of ha-chet.

3:21 But now apart from ha-Torah, tzidkat Elohim has been revealed, being testified by ha-Torah and ha-nevi'im;  22 even tzidkat Elohim through emunah in Yeshua ha-Mashiach to all and on kol ha-ma'aminim.  For there is no distinction,  23 for all have sinned, and fall short of kavod Elohim;  24 being justified freely by his chesed through ha-g'ullah that is in Mashiach Yeshua;  25 whom Elohim set forth to be a kapporet through emunah in his blood, to show his tz'dakah because of the passing over of ha-chata'im done before, in the forbearance of Elohim;  26 to demonstrate his tz'dakah at this present time; that he might himself be tzaddik, and the justifier of him who has emunah in Yeshua.

3:27 Where then is the boasting?  It is excluded.  By what manner of Torah?  Of ma`asim?  No, but by a torat ha-emunah.  28 We maintain therefore that a ben adam is justified by emunah apart from ma`asim ha-Torah.  29 Or is Elohim the Elohim of Y'hudim only?  Isn't he the Elohim of goyim also?  Yes, of goyim also,  30 since indeed there is one Elohim who will justify the circumcised by emunah, and the uncircumcised through emunah.  31 Do we then make ha-Torah of no effect through emunah?  Chalilah!  No, we establish3-31 ha-Torah.

PEREQ ‏ד‎
CHAPTER 4

4:1 What then will we say that Avraham avinu has found according to ha-basar?  2 For if Avraham was justified by ma`asim, he has something to boast about, but not toward Elohim.  3 For what do ha-K'tuvim say?  "Avraham believed Elohim, and it was accounted to him for tz'dakah."[A]4 Now to him who works, the reward is not accounted as of chesed, but as of debt.  5 But to him who doesn't work, but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his emunah is accounted for tz'dakah.  6 Even as David also pronounces blessing on ha-adam to whom Elohim counts tz'dakah apart from ma`asim,  7 "Blessed are they whose Torah-lessnesses [anomia] are forgiven, whose chata'im are covered.  8 Blessed is the man whom ha-Adon will by no means charge with ha-chet."[B]

4:9 Is this blessing then pronounced on the circumcised, or on the uncircumcised also?  For we say that emunah was accounted to Avraham for tz'dakah.  10 How then was it counted?  When he was in mulah, or in uncircumcision?  Not in mulah, but in uncircumcision.  11 He received ot ha-mulah, a seal of tz'dakah ha-emunah which he had while he was in uncircumcision, that he might be av l'khol ha-ma'aminim, though they be in uncircumcision, that tz'dakah might also be accounted to them.  12 Ha-av ha-mulah to those who not only are of ha-mulah, but who also walk in the steps of that emunah of Avraham avinu, which he had in uncircumcision.

4:13 For not through ha-Torah was the promise to Avraham or to his zera that he should be heir of ha-olam, but through tzidkat ha-emunah.  14 For if those who are of ha-Torah are heirs, emunah is made void, and the promise is made of no effect.  15 For ha-Torah works wrath, for where there is no Torah, neither is there transgression.

4:16 For this cause it is of emunah, that it may be according to chesed, that the promise may be sure to kol ha-zera, not to that only which is of ha-Torah, but to that also which is of emunat Avraham, who is the father of us all.  17 Ka katuv, "I have made you av goyim rabbim.[C]"  This is before him whom he believed, Elohim, who gives chayyim la-metim, and calls the things that are not, as though they were,  18 who, b'tikvah, believed against tikvah for his becoming av goyim rabbim, according to that which had been spoken, "So will your zera be."[D]19 Without being weakened in emunah, he didn't consider his own body, already having been worn out, (he being a son of about a hundred years), and the deadness of the womb of Sarah.  20 Yet, looking to the promise of Elohim, he didn't waver through unbelief, but grew strong through emunah, giving kavod l'Elohim,  21 and being fully assured that what he had promised, he was able also to perform.  22 Therefore, it also was "reckoned to him for tz'dakah."[E]23 Now it was not written that it was accounted to him for his sake alone,  24 but for our sake also, to whom it will be accounted, who believe in him who raised Yeshua Adoneinu min ha-metim,  25 who was delivered up for our trespasses, and was raised for our justification.

PEREQ ‏ה‎
CHAPTER 5

5:1 Being therefore justified by emunah, we have shalom with Elohim through Adoneinu Yeshua ha-Mashiach;  2 through whom we also have our access by emunah into this chesed in which we stand.  We rejoice b'tikvat kavod ha-Elohim.  3 Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering works perseverance;  4 and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, tikvah:  5 and tikvah doesn't disappoint us, because ahavat Elohim has been poured out into our hearts through Ruach ha-Kodesh who was given to us.

5:6 For while we were yet weak, at the right time Mashiach died for the ungodly.  7 For with difficulty one will die for a tzaddik.  Yet perhaps for a tzaddik someone would even have courage to die.  8 But Elohim commends his own ahavah toward us, in that while we were yet chatta'im, Mashiach died for us.  9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we will be saved from the wrath of Elohim through him.  10 For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled l'Elohim b'mavet B'no, much more, being reconciled, we will be saved by his chayyim.  11 Not only so, but we also rejoice b'Elohim al-yad Adoneinu Yeshua ha-Mashiach, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

5:12 Therefore, as ha-chet entered into ha`olam through one ben adam, and ha-mavet through ha-chet, so ha-mavet passed to kol b'nei adam, because all sinned.  13 For until ha-Torah, ha-chet was in ha`olam; but chet is not charged when there is no Torah.  14 Nevertheless ha-mavet reigned me-Adam `ad-Mosheh, even over those whose chata'im weren't like the disobedience of Adam, who is a foreshadowing of him who was to come.

5:15 But the charisma isn't like the trespass.  For if by the trespass of the one the many died, much more did chesed Elohim, and the gift [dōrea] by ha-chesed of the one ben adam, Yeshua ha-Mashiach, abound to the many.  16 The charisma is not as through one who sinned: for ha-mishpat came by one to condemnation, but the charisma came of many trespasses to justification.  17 For if by the trespass of the one, ha-mavet reigned through the one; so much more will those who receive the abundance of chesed and of the gift [dōrea] of tz'dakah reign in chayyim through the one, Yeshua ha-Mashiach.

5:18 So then as through one trespass, kol b'nei adam were condemned; even so through one act of tz'dakah, kol b'nei adam were justified to chayyim.  19 For as through the disobedience of one ben adam, many were made chatta'im, even so through the obedience of the one will many be made tzaddikim.  20 Ha-Torah came in besides, that the trespass might abound; but where ha-chet abounded, chesed did abound more exceedingly;  21 that as ha-chet reigned ba-mavet, even so might ha-chesed reign through ha-tz'dakah l'chayei olam b'Yeshua ha-Mashiach Adoneinu.

PEREQ ‏ו‎
CHAPTER 6

6:1 What shall we say then?  Shall we continue ba-chet, that chesed may abound?  2 Chalilah!  We who died la-chet, how could we live in it any longer?  3 Or don't you know that all we who were immersed into Mashiach Yeshua were immersed into his mavet?  4 So we were buried with him through immersion la-mavet, that just like Mashiach was raised min-ha-metim through kavod ha-av, so we also might walk in newness of chayyim.

6:5 For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his mavet, we will also be part of his t'chiyah;  6 knowing this, that our old adam was put to death with him, that the body of ha-chet might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage la-chet.  7 For he who has died has been freed from ha-chet.  8 But if we died with Mashiach, we believe that we will also live with him;  9 knowing that Mashiach, being raised min-ha-metim, dies no more.  Ha-mavet no more has dominion over him!  10 For ha-mavet that he died, he died la-chet one time; but in that he lives, he lives l'Elohim.  11 Thus also consider yourselves also to be truly mut la-chet, but chayyim l'Elohim ba-Mashiach Yeshua Adoneinu.

6:12 Therefore don't let ha-chet reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.  13 Neither present your members la-chet as instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves l'Elohim ka-chayyim me`im ha-metim, and your members as instruments of tz'dakah l'Elohim.  14 For ha-chet will not have dominion over you.  For you are not under Torah, but under chesed.

6:15 What then?  Shall we sin, because we are not under Torah but under chesed?  Chalilah!  16 Don't you know that to whom you present yourselves as `avadim to obedience, his `avadim you are whom you obey; whether la-chet to ha-mavet, or of obedience to tz'dakah?  17 But thanks be to Elohim, that, whereas you were `avadei ha-chet, you became obedient from ha-lev to that form of torah whereunto you were delivered.  18 Being made free from ha-chet, you became `avadei ha-tz'dakah.  19 I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your basar, for as you presented your members as `avadim to tumah and to Torah-lessness upon Torah-lessness, even so now present your members as `avadei ha-tz'dakah for sanctification.

6:20 For when you were `avadei ha-chet, you were free in regard to tz'dakah.  21 What fruit then did you have at that time in the things of which you are now ashamed?  For the end6-21 of those things is ha-mavet.  22 But now, being made free from ha-chet, and having become `avadim l'Elohim, you have your fruit of sanctification, and the result6-22 of chayei olam.  23 For the wages of ha-chet is ha-mavet, but the charisma of Elohim is chayei ha-olam ba-Mashiach Yeshua Adoneinu.

PEREQ ‏ז‎
CHAPTER 7

7:1 Or don't you know, achim (for I speak to men who know ha-Torah7-1, that ha-Torah has dominion over a ben adam for as long as he lives?  2 For ha-ishshah that has a ba`al is bound by Torah to ha-ba`al while he lives, but if ha-ba`al dies, she is discharged mi-Torat ha-ba`al.  3 So then if, while ha-ba`al lives, she is joined to ish acher, she would be called an adulteress.  But if ha-ba`al dies, she is free from ha-Torah, so that she is no adulteress, though she is joined to ish acher.

7:4 Therefore, my achim, you also were made dead to ha-Torah through the body of Mashiach, that you would be joined to another, to him who was raised from ha-metim, that we might bring forth fruit l'Elohim.  5 For when we were in ha-basar, the passions of ha-chet which were through ha-Torah, worked in our members to bring forth fruit la-mavet.  6 But now we have been discharged from ha-Torah, having died to that in which we were held; so that we serve in newness of ruach, and not in oldness of the letter.

7:7 What shall we say then?  Is ha-Torah chet?  Chalilah!  However, I wouldn't have known ha-chet except through ha-Torah.  For I wouldn't have known coveting, unless ha-Torah had said, "You shall not covet."[A]8 But ha-chet, finding occasion through ha-mitzvah, produced in me all kinds of coveting.  For apart from ha-Torah, ha-chet met hu.  9 I was alive apart from ha-Torah once, but when ha-mitzvah came, ha-chet revived, and I died.  10 Ha-mitzvah, which was to chayyim,[B] this I found to be la-mavet;  11 for ha-chet, finding occasion through ha-mitzvah, deceived me, and through it killed me.  12 Therefore ha-Torah hi k'doshah v'ha-mitzvah k'doshah and just v'tov.

7:13 Did then that which is good become death to me?  Chalilah!  But ha-chet, that it might be shown to be ha-chet, by working ha-mavet to me through that which is good; that through ha-mitzvah ha-chet might become exceeding sinful.  14 For we know that ha-Torah is spiritual, but I am fleshly, sold under ha-chet.  15 For I don't know what I am doing.  For I don't practice what I desire to do; but what I hate, that I do.  16 But if what I don't desire, that I do, I consent to ha-Torah ki tovah hi.  17 So now it is no more I that do it, but ha-chet which dwells in me.  18 For I know that in me, that is, in my basar, dwells no good thing.  For desire is present with me, but I don't find it doing that which is good.  19 For the good which I desire, I don't do; but ha-ra which I don't desire, that I practice.  20 But if what I don't desire, that I do, it is no more I that do it, but ha-chet which dwells in me.

7:21 I find then ha-Torah, that, to me, while I desire to do good, evil is present.  22 For I delight in Torat Elohim after the inward adam,[C]23 but I see a different torah in my members, warring against ha-Torah of my mind, and bringing me into captivity under torat ha-chet which is in my members.  24 What a wretched adam I am!  Who will deliver me out of the body of ha-mavet hazeh?  25 I thank Elohim through Yeshua ha-Mashiach, Adoneinu!  So then I of myself with the mind, indeed serve Torat Elohim, but ba'basar, torat ha-chet.

A (7) Ex. 20:17.  B (10) Lev. 18:5.  C (22) Ps. 1:2.

PEREQ ‏ח‎
CHAPTER 8

8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Mashiach Yeshua, who don't walk according to ha-basar, but according to Ruach.  2 For Torat Ruach ha-chayyim ba-Mashiach Yeshua made me free from torat ha-chet v'ha-mavet.  3 For what ha-Torah couldn't do, in that it was weak through ha-basar, Elohim, sending his own Son in the likeness of basar ha-chet and for ha-chet, condemned ha-chet ba-basar;  4 that chukkat ha-Torah might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after ha-basar, but after Ruach.  5 For those who are after ha-basar set their minds on the things of ha-basar, but those who are after ruach the things of ha-Ruach.  6 For the mind of ha-basar, hi ha-mavet, but the mind of ha-Ruach hi ha-chayyim v'ha-shalom;  7 because the mind of ha-basar is hostile toward Elohim; for it is not subject to Torat ha-Elohim, neither indeed can it be.  8 Those who are ba-basar can't please Elohim.

8:9 But you are not ba-basar, but ba-Ruach, if it is so that Ruach ha-Elohim dwells in you.  But if anyone doesn't have Ruach ha-Mashiach, he is not his.  10 If Mashiach is in you, ha-guf met hu because of ha-chet, but ha-ruach chai because of tz'dakah.  11 But if ha-Ruach of him who raised up Yeshua min-ha-metim dwells in you, he who raised up Mashiach Yeshua min-ha-metim will also make your mortal bodies chai through his Ruach who dwells in you.

8:12 So then, achim, we are debtors, not to ha-basar, to live after ha-basar.  13 For if you live after ha-basar, you must die; but if by ha-Ruach you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.  14 For as many as are led by Ruach Elohim, these are b'nei ha-Elohim.  15 For you didn't receive ha-Ruach of bondage again to fear, but you received ha-ruach of adoption, whereby we cry, "Abba!  Father!"  16 Ha-Ruach himself testifies with our ruach that we are b'nei ha-Elohim;  17 and if banim, then heirs; heirs of Elohim, and joint-heirs with Mashiach; if indeed we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him.

8:18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with ha-kavod which will be revealed toward us.  19 For the creation waits with eager expectation for b'nei ha-Elohim to be revealed.  20 For the creation was subjected to vanity, not of its own will, but by reason of him who subjected it, b'tikvah,  21 that the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of decay into the liberty of kavod b'nei ha-Elohim.  22 For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now.  23 Not only so, but ourselves also, who have the bikkurei ha-Ruach, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for adoption, ha-g'ullah of our body.  24 For we were saved b'tikvah, but tikvah that is seen is not tikvah.  For who hopes for that which he sees?  25 But if we hope for that which we don't see, we wait for it with patience.

8:26 In the same way, ha-Ruach also helps our weaknesses, for we don't know how to pray as we ought.  But ha-Ruach itself makes intercession for us with groanings which can't be uttered.  27 He who searches ha-l'vavot knows what is on the mind of ha-Ruach,[A] because he makes intercession for ha-k'doshim according to Elohim.

8:28 We know that to those who love Elohim, all things work together for good, to those who are called according to purpose.  29 For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed l'd'mut B'no, that he might be the firstborn among many achim.  30 Whom he predestined,8-30 those he also called.  Whom he called, those he also justified.  Whom he justified, those he also glorified.

8:31 What then shall we say about these things?  If Elohim is for us, who can be against us?  32 He who didn't spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all (things)?  33 Who could bring a charge against the elect of Elohim?  It is Elohim who justifies.  34 Who is he who condemns?  It is Mashiach who died, yes rather, who was raised from ha-metim, who is at the right hand of Elohim, who also makes intercession for us.  35 Who shall separate us from ahavat Mashiach?  Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?  36 Even as it is written, "For your sake we are killed kol ha-yom.  We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter."[B]37 No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.  38 For I am persuaded ki lo ha-mavet v'lo ha-chayyim, lo malakhim and not principalities or powers or things present or things to come,  39 and not height or depth or any other created thing will be able to separate us from ahavat Elohim, which is in Mashiach Yeshua Adoneinu.

CHAPTER 9

9:1 I tell emet ba-Mashiach.  I am not lying, my conscience testifying with me in Ruach ha-Kodesh,  2 that I have great sorrow and unceasing pain in my heart.  3 For I could wish that I myself were anathema [ανάθεμα9-3] from Mashiach for the sake of my achim, my relatives according to ha-basar,  4 who are Yisra'elim; whose is the adoption, ha-kavod, ha-b'ritot, the giving of ha-Torah, the service, and the promises;[A]

9:5 whose are ha-avot, and of whom is Mashiach as concerning ha-basar, who is over all, Elohim blessed l`olam.  Amein.

9:6 But it is not as though d'var ha-Elohim has come to nothing.  For not all those of Yisra'el are Yisra'el.  7 Neither, because they are zera Avraham are they all y'ladim.  But, "In Yitzchak will your zera be called."[B]8 That is, it is not y'ladim ha-basar who are b'nei ha-Elohim, but ha-y'ladim of the promise are counted as zera.  9 For this is a davar of promise, "At ha-moed I will come, and Sarah will have a son."[C]10 Not only so, but Rivkah also conceived by one, by avinu Yitzchak.  11 For being not yet born, neither having done anything good or bad, that the purpose of Elohim according to election might stand, not of ma`asim, but of him who calls,  12 it was said to her, "The greater will serve the lesser."[D]13 Even as it is written, "Ya`akov I loved, but `Esav I hated."[E]

9:14 What shall we say then?  Is there unrighteousness with Elohim?  Chalilah!  15 For he said to Mosheh, "I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion."[F]16 So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of Elohim who has mercy.  17 For ha-Katuv says to Par`oh, "For this very purpose I caused you to be raised up, that I might show in you my power, and that my name might be published abroad in kol ha-aretz."[G]18 So then, he has mercy on whom he desires, and he hardens whom he desires.

9:19 You will say then to me, "Why does he still find fault?  For who withstands his will?"  20 But no, ben adam, who are you who replies against Elohim?  Will the thing formed ask him who formed it, "Why did you make me like this?"[H]21 Or hasn't the potter a right over the clay, from the same lump to make one part a vessel for honor, and another for dishonor?  22 What if Elohim, willing to show his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath made for destruction,  23 and that he might make known the riches of his kavod on vessels of mercy, which he prepared beforehand for kavod,  24 us, whom he also called, not from ha-Y'hudim only, but also from ha-goyim?  25 As he says also in Hoshea, "I will call them '`ami,' which were lo `ami; and her 'beloved,' who was not beloved."[I]26 "It will be that in the place where it was said to them, 'You are lo `ami,' there they will be called 'b'nei El Chai.'"[J]

9:27 Y'sha'yahu cries concerning Yisra'el, "If the number of b'nei Yisra'el are as the sand of ha-yam, it is the remnant who will be saved;  28 For He will finish ha-davar and cut it short in tz'dakah, because Adonai will make a short work on ha-aretz."[K]29 As Y'sha'yahu has said before, "Unless Yahweh Tz'va'ot had left us a zera, we would have become like S'dom, and would have been made like `Amorah."[L]

9:30 What shall we say then?  That ha-goyim, who didn't follow after tz'dakah, attained to tz'dakah, even ha-tz'dakah which is of emunah;  31 but Yisra'el, following after a Torat tz'dakah, didn't arrive at ha-Torat ha-tz'dakah.  32 Why?  Because they didn't seek it by emunah, but as it were by ma`asei ha-Torah.  They stumbled over the stumbling stone;  33 even as it is written, "Hinneh, I lay b'Tziyon a stumbling stone and a rock of offense; and no one who believes in him will be put to shame."[M]

CHAPTER 10

10:1 Achai, my heart's desire and my request 10-1a to Elohim is for Yisra'el, 10-1b that they may be saved.  2 For I testify about them that they have a zeal for Elohim, but not according to knowledge.  3 For being ignorant of tzidkat Elohim, and seeking to establish their own tz'dakah, they didn't subject themselves to tzidkat Elohim.  4 For Mashiach is the goal10-4 of ha-Torah li'tz'dakah to everyone who believes.

10:5 For Mosheh writes about tzidkat ha-Torah, "The one who does them will live by them."[A]6 But ha-tz'dakah which is of emunah says this, "Don't say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into ha-shamayim?'  (that is, to bring Mashiach down);  7 or, 'Who will descend into the depths?'  (that is, to bring Mashiach up min-ha-metim.)"  8 But what does it say?  "Ha-davar is near you, in your mouth, and in your heart;"[B] that is, the matter of emunah, which we preach:  9 that if you will confess with your mouth ha-Adon Yeshua, and believe in your heart that Elohim raised him min-ha-metim, you will be saved.  10 For with ha-lev, one believes unto tz'dakah; and with the mouth one confesses to yeshu`ah.  11 For ha-Katuv says, "Whoever believes in him will not be put to shame."[C]12 For there is no distinction between Y'hudi and Y'vani; for the same Adon of all is rich to all those calling on him.  13 For "Whoever will call b'shem Yahweh will be saved."[D]

10:14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed?  How will they believe in him of whom they have not heard?  How will they hear without a maggid?  15 And how will they preach unless they are sent?  Ka-katuv: "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach B'sorat shalom, who preach B'sorat tov!"[E]16 But they didn't all listen to ha-B'sorah.  For Y'sha'yahu says, "Adonai, who has believed our report?"[F]17 So emunah comes by hearing, and hearing by d'var ha-Elohim.  18 But I say, didn't they hear?  Yes, most assuredly, "Their sound10-18 went out into kol ha-aretz, their sayings to the ends of the inhabited world."[G]19 But I ask, didn't Yisra'el know?  First Mosheh says, "I will provoke you to jealousy with that which is lo `am, with a goy void of understanding I will make you angry."[H]20 Y'sha'yahu is very bold, and says, "I was found by those who didn't seek me.  I was revealed to those who didn't ask for me."[I]21 But as to Yisra'el he says, "Kol ha-yom I stretched out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people."[J]

CHAPTER 11

11:1 I ask then, Did Elohim reject `amo?  Chalilah!  For I also am a Yisra'eli, mi zera Avraham, of the tribe of Binyamin.  2 Elohim didn't reject `amo, which he foreknew.  Or don't you know what ha-Katuv says about Eliyahu?  How he pleads with Elohim against Yisra'el:  3 "Yahweh, they have killed your nevi'im, they have broken down your mizb'chot; and I am left alone, and they seek my nefesh."[A]4 But how does Elohim answer him?  "I have reserved for myself seven thousand b'nei adam, who have not bowed the knee la-Ba`al."[B]5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of chesed.  6 And if by chesed, then it is no longer of ma`asim; otherwise chesed is no longer chesed.  But if it is of ma`asim, it is no longer chesed; otherwise ma`aseh is no longer ma`aseh.

11:7 What then?  That which Yisra'el seeks for, that he didn't obtain, but the election obtained it, and the rest were hardened.  8 Ka-katuv, "Elohim gave them a ruach of stupor, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear, `ad ha-yom hazeh."[C]9 David says, "Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, a stumbling block, and a retribution to them.  10 Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see.  Bow down their back always."[D]

11:11 I ask then, did they stumble that they might fall?  Chalilah!  But by their fall yeshu`ah has come to ha-goyim, to provoke them to jealousy.  12 Now if their fall is the riches of ha`olam, and their loss the riches of ha-goyim; how much more their fullness?

11:13 For I speak to you who are goyim.  Since then as I am a shaliach la-goyim, I glorify my ministry;  14 if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my basar, and may save some of them.  15 For if the rejection of them is the reconciling of ha`olam, what would the receiving of them be, but chayyim min-ha-metim?  16 If ha-bikkurim are kodesh, so is the lump.  If the root is kodesh, so are the branches.

11:17 But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild zayit, were grafted in among them, and became partaker with them of the root of the richness of ha-zayit;  18 don't boast over the branches.  But if you boast, it is not you who bear the root, but the root you.  19 You will say then, "Branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in."  20 Well; by their unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by your emunah.  Don't be conceited, but fear;  21 for if Elohim didn't spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you.  22 See then the goodness and severity of Elohim.  Toward those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in his goodness; otherwise you also will be cut off.  23 They also, if they don't continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for Elohim is able to graft them in again.  24 For if you were cut out of that which is by nature a wild zayit, and were grafted contrary to nature into a zayit tov, how much more will these, which are the natural branches, be grafted into their own zayit?

11:25 For I don't desire, achai, to have you ignorant of ha-sod hazeh, so that you won't be chakhamim in your own conceits, that a hardening in part has happened to Yisra'el, until the fullness of ha-goyim has come in,  26 and so kol Yisra'el will be saved.  Even ka-katuv, "There will come to11-26 Tziyon Go'el, and he will turn away ungodliness from Ya'akov.[E]27 This is my b'rit to them, when I will take away their chata'im."[F]28 Concerning ha-B'sorah, they are enemies for your sake.  But concerning the election, they are beloved for the sake of ha-avot.  29 For the charismata and the calling of Elohim are irrevocable.  30 For as you in time past were disobedient to Elohim, but now have obtained mercy by their disobedience,  31 even so these also have now been disobedient, that by the mercy shown to you they may also obtain mercy.  32 For Elohim has shut up all to disobedience, that he might have mercy on all.

11:33 Oh the depth of the riches both of the chakham and the knowledge of Elohim!  How unsearchable are his mishpatim, and his ways past tracing out!  34 "For who has known Ruach Yahweh?  Or who has been his counselor?"[G]35 "Or who has first given to him that it should be repaid ?"[H]36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all (things).  To him be ha-kavod l`olamim!  Amein.

CHAPTER 12

12:1 Therefore I beg you, achai, by the mercies of Elohim, to present your bodies a zevach chai, kadosh, acceptable to Elohim, which is your reasonable service.  2 Don't be fashioned according to `olam hazeh, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of Elohim.

12:3 For I say, through the chesed that was given me, to every man who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think reasonably, as Elohim has apportioned to each person a measure of emunah.[A]4 For even as we have many members in one body, and not all the members have the same function,  5 so we, who are many, are one body in Mashiach, and individually members one of another.  6 Having charismata12-6 differing according to the chesed that was given to us, if n'vuah, let us prophesy according to the proportion of our emunah;  7 or service, let us give ourselves to service; or he who teaches, to his teaching;  8 or he who exhorts, to his exhorting: he who gives, let him do it with liberality; he who rules, with diligence; he who shows chesed, with cheerfulness.

12:9 Let ahavah be without hypocrisy.  Abhor that which is evil.  Cling to that which is good.  10 In love12-10 [phileō] of ha-achim be tenderly affectionate one to another; in honor preferring one another;  11 not lagging in diligence; fervent b'ruach; serving ha-Adon;  12 rejoicing b'tikvah; enduring in oppression; continuing steadfastly `al-ha-t'fillah;  13 contributing to the needs of ha-k'doshim; given to hospitality.

12:14 Bless those who persecute you; bless, and don't curse.  15 Rejoice with those who rejoice.  Weep with those who weep.  16 Be of the same mind one toward another.  Don't set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble.  Don't be chakhamim within yourselves.  17 Repay no one evil for evil.  Respect what is honorable in the sight of kol adam.  18 If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be b'shalom `im-kol-adam.  19 Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to the wrath of Elohim.  Ka-katuv, "Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says Yahweh."[B]20 Therefore "If your enemy is hungry, feed him.  If he is thirsty, give him a drink.  For in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head."[C]21 Don't be overcome by evil, but overcome ha-ra ba-tov.

CHAPTER 13

13:1 Let kol nefesh be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except min ha-Elohim, and those who are ordained by Elohim.  2 Therefore, he who resists the authority withstands the ordinance of Elohim; and those who withstand will receive to themselves mishpat.  3 For rulers are not a terror l'ma`asim tovim, but to ha-ra`im.  Do you desire to have no fear of the authority?  Do that which is good, and you will have praise from the same,  4 for he is a shammash of Elohim to you for good.  But if you do that which is evil, be afraid, for he doesn't bear the sword in vain; for he is a shammash of Elohim, an avenger for wrath to him who does evil.  5 Therefore you need to be in subjection, not only because of the wrath, but also for conscience's sake.  6 For this reason you also pay taxes, for they are ministers of the service of Elohim, attending continually on this very thing.  7 So give to everyone what you owe: taxes to whom taxes are due; customs to whom customs; respect to whom respect; honor to whom honor.

13:8 Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled ha-Torah.  9 For ha-mitzvot, "You shall not commit adultery," "Lo tirzhach," "You shall not steal," "You shall not give false `ed," "You shall not covet," and whatever other mitzvot there are, are all summed up in this davar, namely, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."[A]10 Ahavah doesn't harm his neighbor.  Ahavah, therefore, is the fulfillment of ha-Torah.

13:11 This, knowing the time, that it is already time for you to awake out of sleep, for yeshu`ah is now nearer to us than when we first believed.  12 Ha-lailah is far gone, and ha-yom is near.  Let us therefore throw off ma`asim of darkness, and let us put on the armor of ha`or.  13 Let us walk properly, as ba-yom; not in reveling and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and lustful acts, and not in strife and jealousy.  14 But put on ha-Adon Yeshua ha-Mashiach, and make no provision for ha-basar, for its lusts.

CHAPTER 14

14:1 But receive him who is weak in emunah, not for judging thoughts.  2 One has emunah to eat all (things), but he who is weak eats vegetables.  3 Don't let him who eats despise him who doesn't eat.  Don't let him who doesn't eat judge him who eats, for Elohim has received him.  4 Who are you who judge another's `eved?  To his own adon he stands or falls.  Yes, he will be made to stand, for Elohim has power to make him stand.

14:5 One man esteems one day above another.  Another esteems every day alike.  Let each man be fully assured in his own mind.  6 He who observes ha-yom, observes it to ha-Adon; and he who does not observe ha-yom, to ha-Adon he does not observe it.  He who eats, eats to ha-Adon, for he gives Elohim thanks.  He who doesn't eat, to ha-Adon he doesn't eat, and gives Elohim thanks.  7 For none of us lives to himself, and none dies to himself.  8 For if we live, we live to ha-Adon.  Or if we die, we die to ha-Adon.  So if we live or die, we belong to ha-Adon.  9 For Mashiach died, rose, and lived again, that he might be Adon gam `al-ha-metim v'gam `al-ha-chayyim.

14:10 But you, why do you judge your brother?  Or you again, why do you despise your brother?  For we will all stand lifeni kiseh din ha-Mashiach.  11 Ki-khatuv, "'Chai ani,' says Yahweh, 'to me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.'"[A]12 So then each one of us will give account of himself to Elohim.

14:13 Therefore, let's not judge one another any more, but judge this rather, that no man put a stumbling block in his brother's way, or an occasion of falling.  14 I know, and am persuaded in ha-Adon Yeshua, that nothing is tameh of itself, except that to him who considers anything to be tameh; to him it is tameh.  15 Yet if because of food your brother is grieved, you walk no longer in ahavah.  Don't destroy with your food him for whom Mashiach died.  16 Then don't let your good be slandered,  17 for Malkhut ha-Elohim is not eating and drinking, but tz'dakah, shalom, v'simchah b'Ruach ha-Kodesh.  18 For he who serves Mashiach in these things is acceptable to Elohim and approved by men.  19 So then, let us follow after things which make for shalom, and things whereby we may build one another up.  20 Don't overthrow ma`aseh Elohim because of food.  All (things) indeed are tahor; however, it is evil for ha-adam who creates a stumbling block by eating.  21 It is good not to eat basar, drink yayin, nor do anything by which your brother stumbles, is offended, or is made weak.  22 Do you have emunah?  Have it to yourself lifnei Elohim.  Happy is he who doesn't judge himself in that which he approves.  23 But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because it isn't of emunah; and whatever is not of emunah is chet.

CHAPTER 15

15:1 Now we who are chazakim ought to bear the weaknesses of the weak, and not to please ourselves.  2 Let each one of us please his neighbor for that which is good, to be building him up.  3 For Mashiach also didn't please himself.  But, as it is written, "The reproaches of those who reproached you fell on me."[A]4 For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that through patience and through comfort of ha-K'tuvim we might have tikvah.  5 V'Elohei savlanut and of comfort grant you to be of the same mind one with another according to Mashiach Yeshua,  6 that with one accord you may with one mouth glorify ha-Elohim, Avi Adoneinu Yeshua ha-Mashiach.

15:7 Therefore, receive one another, even as Mashiach also received you, to ha-kavod Elohim.  8 Now I say that Mashiach has been made a minister of ha-mulah for emet ha-Elohim, that he might confirm the promises given to ha-avot,  9 and that ha-goyim might glorify Elohim for his mercy.  As it is written, "Therefore will I give praise to you among ha-goyim, and sing to your name."[B]10 Again he says, "Rejoice, goyim, `amo."[C] 11 Again, "Hallelu et15-11 Yahweh, kol goyim!  Let all the peoples praise him."[D]12 Again, Y'sha'yahu says, "There will be the root of Yishai, He who arises to rule over ha-goyim; on him will ha-goyim hope."[E]13 Elohei ha-tikvah fill you with kol simchah v'shalom ba-emunah, that you may abound in tikvah, in the power of Ruach ha-Kodesh.

15:14 I myself am also persuaded about you, my achim, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish others.  15 But I write the more boldly to you, achim, in some measure, as putting you again in memory, because of ha-chesed that was given to me by Elohim,  16 that I should be a minister of Mashiach Yeshua la-goyim, serving B'sorat ha-Elohim, that the offering up of ha-goyim might be made acceptable, being sanctified by Ruach ha-Kodesh.  17 So I have my boasting in Mashiach Yeshua in things pertaining to Elohim.  18 For I will not dare to speak of any things except those which Mashiach worked through me, for the obedience of ha-goyim, by davar and ma`aseh,  19 in the power of otot and wonders, in the power of Ruach ha-Elohim; so that from Yerushalayim, and around as far as to Illurikon, I have fully preached B'sorat ha-Mashiach;  20 yes, making it my aim so to preach ha-B'sorah, not where Mashiach was already named, that I might not build on another man's foundation.  21 But, as it is written, "They, to whom no news of him came, will see.  They who haven't heard will understand."[F]

15:22 Therefore also I was hindered these many times from coming to you,  23 but now, no longer having any place in these regions, and having these many years a longing to come to you,  24 whenever I journey to Spania, I will come to you.  For I hope to see you on my journey, and to be helped on my way there by you, if first I may enjoy your company for a while.  25 But now, I say, I am going to Yerushalayim, serving ha-k'doshim.  26 For it has been the good pleasure of Makedonia and Achaia to make a certain koinonia15-26 for the poor among ha-k'doshim who are at Yerushalayim.  27 Yes, it has been their good pleasure, and they are their debtors.  For if ha-goyim have been made partakers of their spiritual things, they owe it to them also to serve them in fleshly things.  28 So when I have accomplished this, and have sealed to them this fruit, I will go on by you to Spania.  29 I know that, when I come to you, I will come in the fullness of the blessing of B'sorat ha-Mashiach.

15:30 Now I beg you, achim, by Adoneinu Yeshua ha-Mashiach, and b'ahavat ha-Ruach, that you strive together with me in your prayers to Elohim for me,  31 that I may be delivered from those who are disobedient in Y'hudah, and that my service which I have for Yerushalayim may be acceptable to ha-k'doshim;  32 that I may come to you b'simchah through the will of Elohim, and together with you, find rest.  33 V'Elohei ha-Shalom be with you all.  Amein.

PEREQ ‏טז‎
CHAPTER 16

16:1 I commend to you Phoi, achotenu, who is a shammeshet ha-q'hillah that is at Kegchreai,  2 that you receive her ba-Adon, in a way worthy of ha-k'doshim, and that you assist her in whatever matter she may need from you, for she herself also has been a helper of many, and of my own self.

16:3 Greet Priska and Akulas, my fellow workers ba-Mashiach Yeshua,  4 who, for nafshi, laid down their own necks; to whom not only I give thanks, but also kol `edot ha-goyim.  5 Greet ha`edah that is in their bayit.  Greet Epainetos, my beloved, who is ha-bikkurah of Achaia to Mashiach.  6 Greet Miryam, who labored much for us.  7 Greet Andronikos and Iounias, my relatives and my fellow prisoners, who are notable among ha-shlichim, who also have been in Mashiach before me.  8 Greet Amplias, my beloved ba-Adon.  9 Greet Ourbanos, our fellow worker in Mashiach, and Stachus, my beloved.  10 Greet Apellēs, the approved in Mashiach.  Greet those who are of Aristoboulos.  11 Greet Hērōdiōn, my kinsman.  Greet them of the household of Narkissos, who are ba-Adon.  12 Greet Truphaina and Truphōsa, who labor ba-Adon.  Greet Persis, the beloved, who labored much ba-Adon.  13 Greet Roufos, the chosen ba-Adon, and imo and mine.  14 Greet Asugkritos, Phlegōn, Hermas, Patrobas, Hermes, v'ha-achim who are with them.  15 Greet Philologos and Ioulia, Nereus and his achot, and Olumpas, and kol ha-k'doshim who are with them.  16 Greet one another with a holy kiss.  Ha`edot Mashiach greet you.

16:17 Now I beg you, achim, look out for those who are causing the divisions and occasions of stumbling, contrary to the torah which you learned, and turn away from them.  18 For those who are such don't serve Adoneinu Yeshua ha-Mashiach, but their own belly; and by their smooth and flattering speech, they deceive ha-l'vavot of the innocent.  19 For your obedience has reached all.  I rejoice, therefore, over you.  But I desire to have you chakhamim to that which is good, but innocent to that which is evil.  20 Now Elohei ha-shalom will crush ha-satan under your feet swiftly.  Chesed Adoneinu Yeshua ha-Mashiach be with you.

16:21 Timotheos, my fellow worker, greets you, as do Loukios, Iasōn, and sipatros, my relatives.

16:22 I, Tertios, who write ha-iggeret ha-zot, greet you ba-Adon.

16:23 Gaios, my host and host of kol ha`edah, greets you.  Erastos, the treasurer of ha`ir, greets you, as does Kouartos, ha-ach.  24 Chesed Adoneinu Yeshua ha-Mashiach be with you all!  Amein.

16:25 Now to him who is able to establish you according to my B'sorah and the preaching of Yeshua ha-Mashiach, according to gilui ha-sod which has been kept in silence through eternal times,  26 but now is revealed, and by kitvei ha-nevi'im k'mitzvat Elohei `Olam is made known to kol ha-goyim to obedience of emunah;  27 to the only wise Elohim, through Yeshua ha-Mashiach, to whom be ha-kavod l`olamim!  Amein.

6:22:  "result": telos.  See 6:21N.  RETURN
7:1:  There's a good chance that, through the witness of this verse, Sha'ul was speaking to Yisra'elim, those of the n'fatzim (dispersion) who were, because they were not Y'hudim, goyim.  RETURN
8:30:  pro'ori: G4309; to determine or decree beforehand.  8:29, used with a personal object; applies also to the previous verb 'foreknew.'  The translation is "for whom he did foreknow, he also did foreordain."  The purpose of this foreordination is expressed in the phrase, "to be conformed to the image of his son." … The important thing for us to consider when the word is used is not who are the objects of this predestination, but what are they predestined to.  They are always predestined to salvation, to adoption, or to glory, etc.  ---  Zodhiates.  RETURN
9:3:  anathema: see glossary, first description.  RETURN
10:1a: "Request": the Greek word here is deēsis (1162) (δέησις) which means "a need, entreaty, petition," equiv. to Heb. sha'al, (7592) (‏שָׁאַל‎) "to ask, inquire."  The Greek word proseuchomai (προσεύχομαι) (G4336) means "to pray," equiv. to Heb. palal (H6419) (‏פָּלַל‎), to intervene, interpose.  RETURN
10:1b:  Sha'ul is writing to goyim/gentiles here.  He's the "apostle to the gentiles," so we can assume that Israel here is intended to mean all 12 tribes.  But the kingdom of the Y’hudim is not being addressed, only the kingdom of Yisra'el, many of whom are probably present in every nation surrounding the Mediterranean.  RETURN
10:4:  "goal": telos.  See 6:21N  RETURN
10:18:  "sound": Heb. qavam (6957): cord; measuring line.  RETURN
11:26:  "to Zion": The Greek of this verse says "ek Zion," (εκ Σιων) - "from Zion" - even though the source verse says ‏לְצִיּוֹן‎ - "to Zion," - and is so translated by 12+ versions.  (LXX: "for Sion's sake")  RETURN
12:6:  These are the seven spiritual gifts (charismata), not the nine pneumatikon ("spiritual things") often mistakenly called "spiritual gifts" in 1 Cor. 12:1.  RETURN
12:10: "love": Grk.: agapaō (αγαπάω) (G25): indicates a direction of the will and finding one's joy in anything.  Contr. with phileo (φιλέω) (G5368), to be contented with, denoting common interests, hence befriending.  --  Zodhiates.
