IGGERRET SHA'UL EL-PHILĒMŌN
The Letter of Sha'ul (Paul) to Philemon
Brief notes on Hebrew pronunciation
can be found at GLOSSARY
or at the bottom of Yirmeyahu. [♦] See FOOTNOTES
"Adonai" is reserved to refer to YHWH. "Ha-Adon" may be ambiguous for YHWH or Yeshua.
1Sha'ul, a prisoner of Mashiach Yeshua, and Timotheos ha-ach, el-Philēmōn, our beloved fellow worker,
2
to the beloved Apfia v'el-Archippos, our fellow soldier, and to ha`edah in your bayit:
3Chesed to you and shalom from Elohim Avinu and ha-Adon Yeshua ha-Mashiach.
4
I thank my Elohim always, making mention of you in my t'fillot,
5
hearing of your ahavah, and of ha-emunah which you have toward ha-Adon Yeshua, and toward all ha-k'doshim;
6
that the koinōnia[♦] of your emunah may become effective, in the knowledge of kol tov [every good thing] which is in us, in Mashiach Yeshua.
7
For we have simchah g'dolah and comfort in your ahavah, because ha-l'vavot of ha-k'doshim have been refreshed through you, brother.
8
Therefore, though I have all boldness in Mashiach to command you that which is appropriate,
9
yet for the sake of ahavah I rather beg, being such a one as Sha'ul ha-zaqen, and now a prisoner also of Mashiach Yeshua.
10
I beg you for my yeled, whom I have fathered in my bonds, Onēsimos,
11
who once was useless to you, but now is useful to you and to me;
12
I am sending him back. You, therefore, receive him, that is, my own lev,
13
whom I wanted to keep with me, that in your behalf he might minister to me in the bonds of ha-B'sorah.
14
But I was willing to do nothing without your consent, that your goodness would not be as of necessity, but of free will.
15
For perhaps he was therefore separated from you for a while, that you would have him forever,
16
no longer as an `eved, but more than an `eved, a beloved brother, specially to me, but how much rather to you, both ba-basar and ba-Adon.
17
If, then, you count me a partner, receive him as you would receive me.
18
But if he has wronged you at all, or owes you anything, put that to my account.
19Ani, Sha'ul, write this with my own hand: I will repay it (that I not say to you that you owe to me even yourself besides).
20
Yes, brother, let me have simchah from you ba-Adon. Refresh my lev ba-Adon.
21
Having confidence in your obedience, I write to you, knowing that you will do even beyond what I say.
22
Also, prepare a guest room for me, for I hope that through your t'fillot I will be restored to you.
23Epafras, my fellow prisoner ba-Mashiach Yeshua, greets you,
24
as do Markos, Aristarchos, Dēmas, v'Loukas, my fellow workers.
25Chesed Adoneinu Yeshua ha-Mashiach be with your ruach. Amein.
