PEREQ א
CHAPTER 1 1:1Sha'ul, Silvanos, v'Timotheos el`edat ha-Taslonikim b'Elohim ha-Av u'va-Adon Yeshua ha-Mashiach: Chesed to you v'shalom from Elohim Avinu va-Adoneinu Yeshua ha-Mashiach.
1:2
We always give thanks to Elohim for all of you, mentioning you in our t'fillim,
3
remembering without ceasing your ma`asei emunah and labor of ahavah and patience of tikvah in Adoneinu Yeshua ha-Mashiach lifnei ha-Elohim Avinu.
4
We know, achim loved by Elohim, that you are chosen,
5
and that our B'sorah came to you not in davar only, but also in power, and in Ruach ha-Kodesh, and with much assurance. You know what sort (of men) we showed ourselves to be among you for your sake.
6
You became imitators of us, and of ha-Adon, having received ha-davar in much affliction, b'simchat Ruach ha-Kodesh,
7
so that you became an example to all who believe in Makedonia and in Achaia.
8
For from you has sounded forth d'var Adonai, not only in Makedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your emunah toward Elohim has gone forth; so that we need not to say anything.
9
For they themselves report concerning us what kind of a reception we had from you; and how you turned to Elohim from idols, to serve Elohim el chai v'emet,
10
and to wait for B'no min ha-shamayim, whom he raised min ha-metim -- Yeshua, who delivers us from the wrath to come.
PEREQ ב
CHAPTER 2 2:1
For you yourselves know, achim, our visit to you hasn't been found vain,
2
but having suffered before and been shamefully treated, as you know, at Philippoi, we grew bold b'Eloheinu to tell you B'sorat ha-Elohim in much conflict.
3
For our exhortation is not of error, nor of uncleanness, nor in deception.
4
But even as we have been approved by Elohim to be entrusted with ha-B'sorah, so we speak; not as pleasing b'nei adam, but Elohim, who tests our l'vavot.
5
For neither were we at any time found using d'varim of flattery, as you know, nor a cloak of covetousness (Elohim `ed),
6
nor seeking kavod anashim (neither from you nor from others), when we might have claimed authority as shlichei ha-Mashiach.
7
But we were gentle in the midst of you, as when a nurse cherishes her own y'ladim.
8
Even so, affectionately longing for you, we were well pleased to impart to you, not B'sorat ha-Elohim only, but also our own nafshot, because you had become very dear to us.
2:9
For you remember, achim, our labor and travail; for working lailah va-yomam, that we might not burden any of you, we preached to you B'sorat ha-Elohim.
10
You are `edim with Elohim, how holy, righteously, and blamelessly we behaved ourselves toward you who believe.
11
As you know how we exhorted, comforted, and implored each one of you, as a father does his own y'ladim,
12
to the end that you should walk worthily of Elohim, who calls you into his own malkhut and kavod.
2:13
For this cause we also thank Elohim without ceasing, that, when you received from us ha-davar of hearing of Elohim, you accepted it not as d'var anashim, but, as it is in emet, d'var ha-Elohim, which also works in you who believe.
14Ki-attem, achim, became imitators of `edot ha-Elohim asher b'eretz Y'hudah ba-Mashiach Yeshua; for you also suffered the same things from your own countrymen, even as they did from ha-Y'hudim;
15
who killed both ha-Adon Yeshua and their own n'vi'im, and drove us out, and didn't please Elohim, and are contrary to kol adam;
16
forbidding us to speak el-ha-goyim that they may be saved; to fill up their chata'im always. But wrath has come on them to the uttermost.
2:17
But we, achim, being bereaved of you for a short season, in presence, lo b'lev, tried even harder to see your face with great desire,
18
because we wanted to come to you -- indeed, ani, Sha'ul, once and again -- but ha-satan hindered us.
19
For what is our tikvah, or simchah, or crown of rejoicing? Isn't it even you, before Adoneinu Yeshua at his coming?
20
For you are our kavod and our simchah.

CHAPTER 3 3:1
Therefore, when we couldn't stand it any longer, we thought it good to be left behind at Athēnai alone,
2
and sent Timotheos, our brother and shamash ha-Elohim in B'sorat ha-Mashiach, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your emunah;
3
that no one be moved by these afflictions. For you know that we are appointed to this task.
4
For most assuredly, when we were with you, we told you beforehand that we are to suffer affliction, even as it happened, and you know.
5
For this cause I also, when I couldn't stand it any longer, sent that I might know your emunah, for fear that by any means the tempter had tempted you, and our labor would have been in vain.
3:6
But when Timotheos came just now to us from you, and brought us glad news of your emunah and ahavah, and that you have good memories of us always, longing to see us, even as we also long to see you;
7
for this cause, achim, we were comforted over you in all our distress and affliction through your emunah.
8
For now we live, if you stand fast ba-Adon.
9
For what thanksgiving can we render again to Elohim for you, for all the simchah with which we rejoice for your sakes before Eloheinu;
10lailah va-yomam praying exceedingly that we may see your face, and may perfect that which is lacking in your emunah?
3:11
Now may Elohim Avinu himself, and Adoneinu Yeshua ha-Mashiach, direct our way to you;
12
and Adonai make you to increase and abound in ahavah one toward another, and toward kol adam, even as we also do toward you,
13
to the end he may establish your l'vavot blameless in holiness lifnei Eloheinu Avinu, at the coming of Adoneinu Yeshua with all his k'doshim.
PEREQ ד
CHAPTER 4 4:1
Finally then, achim, we beg and exhort you ba-Adon Yeshua, that, as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please Elohim, you abound more and more.
2
For you know what charge we gave you through ha-Adon Yeshua.
3
For this is the will of Elohim: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality,
4
that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor,
5
not in the passion of lust, even as ha-goyim who don't know Elohim;
6
that no one should take advantage of and wrong his ach in this matter; because Adonai is an avenger in all these things, as also we forewarned you and testified.
7
For Elohim called us not for uncleanness, but in sanctification.
8
Therefore he who rejects doesn't reject ben adam, but Elohim, who has also given his Ruach ha-Kodesh to you.
4:9
But concerning achavat ha-achim, you have no need that one write to you. For you yourselves are taught by Elohim to love one another,
10
for indeed you do it toward all ha-achim who are in all Makedonia. But we exhort you, achim, that you abound more;
11
and that you make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, even as we charged you;
12
that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and may have need of nothing.
4:13
But we don't want you to be ignorant, achim, concerning those who have fallen asleep, so that you don't grieve like the rest, who have no tikvah.
14
For if we believe that Yeshua died and rose again, even so those who have fallen asleep in Yeshua will Elohim bring with him.
15
For this we tell you by d'var Adonai, that we who are alive, who are left to the coming of ha-Adon, will in no way precede those who have fallen asleep.
16
For Adonai himself will descend min ha-shamayim[A] with a shout, with qol sar ha-malakhim, and with shofar Elohim. Ha-metim ba-Mashiach will rise first,
17
then we ha-chayyim, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet ha-Adon in the air. So we will be with Adonai forever.
18
Therefore comfort one another with these d'varim.
[A] (16) Zech. 14:4.
PEREQ ה
CHAPTER 5 5:1
But concerning the times and the seasons, achim, you have no need that anything be written to you.
2
For you yourselves know well that yom Adonai comes like a thief ba-lailah.
3
For when they are saying, "Shalom and safety," then sudden destruction will come on them, like birth pains on a pregnant woman; and they will in no way escape.
4
But you, achim, aren't in darkness, that ha-yom should overtake you like a thief.
5
You are all b'nei ha-or u'v'nei ha-yom. We don't belong to ha-lailah, nor to darkness,
6
so then let's not sleep, as the rest do, but let us watch and be sober.
7
For those who sleep, sleep ba-lailah, and those who are drunken are drunken ba-lailah.
8
But let us, since we belong to ha-yomam, be sober, putting on the breastplate of emunah and ahavah, and, for a helmet, tikvat ha-yeshu`ah.
9
For Elohim didn't appoint us to wrath, but to the obtaining of yeshu`ah through Adoneinu Yeshua ha-Mashiach,
10
who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
11
Therefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as you also do.
5:12
But we beg you, achim, to know those who labor among you, and are over you ba-Adon, and admonish you,
13
and to respect and honor them in ahavah for their work's sake. Be at shalom among yourselves.
14
We exhort you, achim, admonish the disorderly, encourage the fainthearted, support the weak, be patient toward all.
15
See that no one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always follow after that which is good, toward one another and toward all.
16
Rejoice always.
17
Pray without ceasing.
18
In everything give thanks, for this is the will of Elohim ba-Mashiach Yeshua toward you.
19
Don't quench ha-Ruach.
20
Don't despise n'vuot.
21
Test all things, and hold firmly that which is good.
22
Abstain from every form of evil.
5:23
May Elohei ha-shalom himself sanctify you completely. May your whole ruach, nephesh, v'guf be preserved blameless at the coming of Adoneinu Yeshua ha-Mashiach.
24Ne'eman hu who calls you, who will also do it.
5:25Achim, pray for us.
5:26
Greet all ha-achim with a holy kiss.
5:27
I solemnly charge you by Adonai that this iggeret be read to all ha-achim ha-k'doshim.
5:28Chesed Adoneinu Yeshua ha-Mashiach be with you. Amein.
