CHAPTER 1

1:1 Sha'ul, shaliach Yeshua ha-Mashiach through the will of Elohim, v'Timotheos ha-ach,

1:2 El ha-k'doshim ha-achim ha-ne'emanim ba-Mashiach at Kolossai: Chesed to you and shalom me-et Elohim Avinu, v'ha-Adon Yeshua ha-Mashiach.

1:3 We give thanks to Elohim, Avi (of) Adoneinu Yeshua ha-Mashiach, praying always for you,  4 having heard of your emunah ba-Mashiach Yeshua, and of the ahavah which you have toward all ha-k'doshim,  5 because of ha-tikvah which is laid up for you ba-shamayim, whereof you heard before in d'var emet ha-B'sorah,  6 which has come to you; even as it is l'kol ha`olam and is bearing fruit and increasing, as it does in you also, since the day you heard and knew chesed Elohim b'emet;  7 even as you learned from Epafras our beloved fellow-`eved, who is a shammash Mashiach ne'eman on our behalf,  8 who also declared to us your ahavah ba-Ruach.

1:9 For this cause, we also, since the day we heard this, don't cease praying and making requests for you, that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual chokhmah and understanding,  10 that you may walk worthily of ha-Adon, to please him in all respects, bearing fruit in kol ma`aseh tov, and increasing in the knowledge of Elohim;  11 strengthened with all power, according to the might of his kavod, to all patience and perseverance with simchah;  12 giving thanks to ha-Av, who made us fit to be partakers of the inheritance of ha-k'doshim ba-or;  13 who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into ha-malkhut ha-ben of his ahavah;  14 in whom we have our g'ullah through his blood, the forgiveness of our chata'im;

1:15 v'hu ha-tselem the invisible Elohim,, the firstborn of all creation.1-1516 For by him were created kol asher ba-shamayim va-asher ba-aretz, things visible and things invisible, whether kisot or dominions or principalities or powers; all (things) have been created through him, and to him.  17 He is before all (things), and in him all (things) are held together.  18 Hu rosh guf, ha`edah, asher hu reshit, the firstborn from ha-metim; that he might be ha-rishon ba-kol.  19 For all the fullness was pleased to dwell in him;  20 and through him to reconcile all (things) to himself, having made shalom through ha-dam of his stake; through him, I say, whether things ba-aretz, or things ba-shamayim.

1:21 You, being in past times alienated and enemies in your mind in your ma`asim ra`im,  22 yet now he has reconciled b'guf of his basar through mavet, to present you k'doshim and without blemish and blameless before him,  23 if it is so that you continue in ha-emunah, grounded and steadfast, and not moved away from tikvat ha-B'sorah which you heard, which is being proclaimed in kol ha-b'riah under ha-shamayim; of which ani, Sha'ul, was made a shammash.

1:24 Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and fill up on my part that which is lacking of the afflictions of Mashiach in my basar for the sake of his guf, ha`edah;  25 of which I was made a shammash, according to the stewardship of Elohim which was given me toward you, to fulfill d'var ha-Elohim,  26 ha-sod which has been hidden me`olamim u'mi-dor va-dor.  But now it has been revealed to his k'doshim,  27 to whom Elohim was pleased to make known what are the riches of ha-kavod ha-sod ha-hu among ha-goyim, which is Mashiach in you, tikvat ha-kavod;  28 whom we proclaim, admonishing kol ish and teaching kol ish b'khol-chokhmah, that we may present kol ish shalem ba-Mashiach Yeshua;  29 for which I also labor, striving according to his working, which works in me mightily.

CHAPTER 2

2:1 For I desire to have you know how greatly I strive for you, and for them at Laodikeia, and for as many as have not seen my face ba-basar;  2 that l'vavot may be comforted, they being knit together in ahavah, and to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, that they may know sod ha-Elohim Avinu v'sod ha-Mashiach,  3 in whom are all the treasures of chokhmah and knowledge hidden.  4 Now this I say that no one may delude you with persuasiveness of speech.  5 For though I am absent ba-basar, yet am I with you ba-ruach, rejoicing and seeing your order, and the steadfastness of your emunah ba-Mashiach.

2:6 As therefore you received Mashiach Yeshua ha-Adon, walk in him,  7 rooted and built up in him, and established in ha-emunah, even as you were taught, abounding in it in thanksgiving.  8 Be careful that you don't let anyone rob you through his adamat chokhmah and vain deceit, after kabbalat b'nei ha-adam, after the elements of ha`olam, and not after Mashiach.  9 For in him all the fullness of ha-elohut2-9 dwells bodily,  10 and in him you are made full, who is the head of all principality and power;  11 in whom you were also circumcised with a mulah not made with hands, in the putting off of ha-guf of ha-chata'im of ha-basar, in milat ha-Mashiach;  12 having been buried with him in immersion, in which you were also raised with him through emunah in the working of Elohim, who raised him from ha-metim.  13 You were dead through your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your basar.  He made you alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses;  14 having blotted out the bond[♦] written in chukkim that was against us, which was contrary to us: and he has taken it out of the way, nailing it to the stake;  15 having stripped the principalities and the powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

2:16 Let no ben adam therefore judge you in eating, or in drinking, or with respect to a mo`ed or a rosh chodesh or Shabbat,  17 which are a shadow of what is coming; but the body is of Mashiach.  18 Let no ben adam rob you of your prize by a voluntary humility and worshipping of ha-malakhim, dwelling in the things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,  19 and not holding firmly to ha-Rosh, from whom kol ha-guf, being supplied and knit together through the joints and ligaments, grows with the growth of Elohim.

2:20 If you died with Mashiach from the elements of ha`olam, why, as though living in ha`olam, do you subject yourselves to chukkim,  21 "Don't handle, nor taste, nor touch"  22 (all which things are to perish with the using), after ha-mitzvot and kabbalat anashim?[A]23 Which things indeed appear like chokhmah in self-imposed worship, and humility, and severity to ha-guf; but aren't of any value against the indulgence of ha-basar.

[A] (22) Is. 29:13.

PEREQ ‏ג‎
CHAPTER 3

3:1 If, then, you were raised together with Mashiach, seek the things that are above, where Mashiach is, seated on the right hand of Elohim[A].  2 Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things asher ba-aretz.  3 For you died, and your chayyim is hidden im-ha-Mashiach b'Elohim.  4 When Mashiach, our chayyim, is revealed, then you will also be revealed with him b'khavod.

3:5 Put to death, therefore, your members which are ba-aretz: sexual immorality, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry;  6 for which things' sake the wrath of Elohim comes on the sons of disobedience.  7 You also once walked in those, when you lived in them;  8 but now you also put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and shameful speaking out of your mouth.  9 Don't lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings,  10 and have put on ha-adam chadash, that is being renewed in knowledge after the image of his Creator,  11 where there can't be Y'vani v'Y'hudi, mulah and uncircumcision, lo`az, Scythian, `eved, freeman; but ha-Mashiach hu ha-kol u'va-kol.

3:12 Put on, therefore, as the elect of Elohim, ha-k'doshim and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance;  13 bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Mashiach forgave you, so you also do.  14 Above all these (things), walk in ahavah, which is the bond of perfection.  15 And let ha-shalom Elohim rule in your l'vavot, to which also you were called b'guf echad; and be thankful.  16 Let d'var ha-Mashiach dwell in you richly, b'khol-chokhmah teaching and admonishing one another with t'hillim, shirim, v'zimrot, singing with chesed in your lev l'Elohim.  17 Whatever you do, bi-d'var or in deed, do all b'shem ha-Adon Yeshua, giving thanks to Elohim ha-Av through him.

3:18 Nashim, be in subjection to your ba`alim, as is fitting ba-Adon.  19 Anashim, love your nashim, and don't be bitter against them.  20 Banim, obey your parents in all things, for this pleases Adonai.  21 Avot, don't provoke b'neikhem, so that they won't be discouraged.  22 `Avadim, obey in all things those who are your adonim according to ha-basar, not just when they are looking, as men-pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing Elohim.  23 And whatever you do, work heartily, as for Adonai, and not for b'nei adam,  24 knowing that from Adonai you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve ha-Adon, Mashiach.  25 For he who does wrong will receive again for the wrong that he has done, and there is no partiality.

[A] (1) Ps. 110:1.

PEREQ ‏ד‎
CHAPTER 4

4:1 Adonim, give to your `avadim that which is tzedek and equal, knowing that you also have an Adon ba-shamayim.

4:2 Continue steadfastly ba-t'fillah, watching therein with thanksgiving;  3 praying together for us also, that Elohim may open to us a door for ha-davar, to speak ha-sod Mashiach, for which I am also in bonds;  4 that I may reveal it as I ought to speak.

4:5 Walk in chokhmah toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.  6 Let your speech always be with chesed, seasoned with melakh, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.

4:7 All my affairs will be made known to you by Tuchikos, the beloved ach, `eved ne'eman, and fellow bondservant ba-Adon.  8 I am sending him to you for this very purpose, that he may know your circumstances and comfort your l'vavot,  9 together with Osimos, ha-ne'eman and beloved ach, who is one of you.  They will make known to you all (things) that are going on here.

4:10 Aristarchos, my fellow prisoner greets you, and Markos, the cousin of Barnabas (concerning whom you received mitzvot, "if he comes to you, receive him"),  11 and Yeshua who is called Ioustos, who are of ha-mulah.  These are my only fellow workers to Malkhut ha-Elohim, b'nei adam who have been a comfort to me.  12 Epafras, who is one of you, `eved Mashiach, salutes you, always striving for you in his t'fillim, that you may stand perfect and shalem in all the will of Elohim.  13 For I testify about him, that he has great zeal for you, and for those in Laodikeia, and for those in Hierapolis.  14 Loukas, the beloved physician, and Dēmas greet you.  15 Greet ha-achim who are in Laodikeia, and Numfa, and ha`edah that is in his bayit.  16 When this iggeret has been read among you, cause it to be read also in ha`edah Laodikeia; and that you also read ha-iggeret from Laodikeia.  17 Tell Archippos, "Take heed to the ministry which you have received ba-Adon, that you fulfill it."

4:18 The salutation of me, Sha'ul, with my own hand.  Remember my bonds.  Chesed be with you.  Amein.
