CHAPTER 1

1:1 Sha'ul and Timotheos, avadim Yeshua ha-Mashiach; el kol ha-k'doshim ba-Mashiach Yeshua who are in Philippoi, with the overseers and shammashim:

1:2 Chesed to you, v'shalom me-et ha-Elohim Avinu, va-Adon Yeshua ha-Mashiach.

1:3 I thank my Elohim whenever I remember you,  4 always in every request of mine on behalf of you all making my requests b'simchah,  5 for your koinōnia1-5 in furtherance of ha-B'sorah min-ha-yom ha-rishon until now;  6 being confident of this very thing, that he who began ha-ma`aseh ha-tov in you will complete it `ad yom Yeshua ha-Mashiach.  7 It is even right for me to think this way on behalf of all of you, because I have you in my heart, inasmuch as, both in my bonds and in the defense and confirmation of ha-B'sorah, you all are partakers with me of my chesed.  8 Ki ha-Elohim is my `ed, how I long after all of you in the affection of Mashiach Yeshua.  9 This I pray, that your ahavah may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment;  10 so that you may approve the things that are excellent; that you may be sincere and without offense `ad yom ha-Mashiach;  11 being filled with p'ri ha-tz'dakah, which are through Yeshua ha-Mashiach, to the kavod and t'hillah of Elohim.

1:12 Now I desire to have you know, achim, that the things which happened to me have turned out rather to the progress of ha-B'sorah;  13 so that my bonds became revealed ba-Mashiach throughout the whole Rōmit headquarters, and to all the rest;  14 and that most of ha-achim ba-Adon, being confident through my bonds, are more abundantly bold to speak davar without fear.

1:15 Some indeed preach Mashiach even out of envy and strife, and some also out of good will.  16 The former preach Mashiach from selfish ambition, not sincerely, thinking that they add affliction to my chains;  17 but the latter out of ahavah, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of ha-B'sorah.  18 What does it matter?  Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Mashiach is proclaimed.  I rejoice in this, yes, and will rejoice.

1:19 For I know that this will turn out to my yeshu`ah, through your supplication and the supply of ruach Yeshua ha-Mashiach,  20 according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will in no way be put to shame, but with all boldness, as always, now also Mashiach will be magnified in my body, whether by chayyim or by mavet.  21 For to me chayyah is Mashiach, and mut is gain.  But if chayyah ba-basar, this will bring fruit from my labor; then I don't make known what I will choose.  22 But I am in a dilemma between the two, having the desire to depart and be with Mashiach, which is far better.  23 Yet, to remain ba-basar is more needful for your sake.  Having this confidence, I know that I will remain, yes, and remain with you all, for your progress and simchat emunah,  24 that your rejoicing may abound in Mashiach Yeshua in me through my presence with you again.

1:27 Only behave yourself worthily of B'sorat ha-Mashiach, that, whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your state, that you stand firm in ruach achat, with nefesh achat striving for emunat ha-B'sorah;  28 and in nothing frightened by the opposition, which is for them a proof of destruction, but to you of yeshu`ah, and that me-et ha-Elohim.  29 Because it has been granted to you on behalf of Mashiach, not only to believe in him, but also to suffer on his behalf,  30 having the same conflict which you saw in me, and now hear is in me.

PEREQ ‏ב‎
CHAPTER 2

2:1 If there is therefore any exhortation in Mashiach, if any consolation of ahavah, if any koinōnia2-1 of ha-Ruach, if any tender mercies and compassion,  2 make my simchah full, that you be of the same mind, having the same ahavah, being of one accord, of one mind;  3 doing nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself;  4 each of you not just looking to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others.  5 Have this in your mind, which was also in Mashiach Yeshua,  6 who, existing in the form2-6 of Elohim, didn't consider it robbery to be equal with Elohim,  7 but emptied himself, taking the form of an `eved, being made in the likeness of ben adam.  8 And being found in appearance as ben adam, he humbled himself, becoming obedient `ad mavet, yes, ha-mavet of the stake.  9 Therefore, Elohim also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above kol shem;  10 that b'shem Yeshua every knee would bow, of those ba-shamayim u'va-aretz, and those under ha-aretz,  11 and that every tongue would confess ki-Adon hu Yeshua ha-Mashiach li-kh'vod Elohim ha-Av.

2:12 So then, my beloved, even as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, work out your own yeshu`ah with fear and trembling.  13 Ki ha-Elohim hu who works in you both to will and to work, for his good pleasure.

2:14 Do all (things) without murmurings and disputes,  15 that you may become blameless and harmless, b'nei ha-Elohim without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you are seen as orot ba`olam,  16 holding up d'var ha-chayyim; that I may have something to boast b'yom ha-Mashiach, that I didn't run in vain nor labor in vain.  17 Yes, and if I am poured out on the sacrifice and service of your emunah, I rejoice, and rejoice with you all.  18 In the same way, you also rejoice, and rejoice with me.

2:19 But I hope in ha-Adon Yeshua to send Timotheos to you soon, that I also may be cheered up when I know how you are doing.  20 For I have no one else like-minded, who will truly care about you.  21 For they all seek their own, not the things of Yeshua ha-Mashiach.  22 But you know the proof of him, that, as a child serves a father, so he served with me in furtherance of ha-B'sorah.  23 Therefore I hope to send him at once, as soon as I see how it will go with me.  24 But I trust in ha-Adon that I myself also will come shortly.

2:25 But I counted it necessary to send to you Epaphroditos achi, fellow worker, fellow soldier, and your shaliach and minister to my need;  26 since he longed for you all, and was very troubled, because you had heard that he was sick.  27 For indeed he was sick, nearly la-mut, but Elohim had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, that I might not have sorrow on sorrow.  28 I have sent him therefore the more diligently, that, when you see him again, you may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful.  29 Receive him therefore ba-Adon with all simchah, and hold such in honor,  30 because for the work of Mashiach he came near `ad-mut, risking his nefesh to supply that which was lacking in your service toward me.

PEREQ ‏ג‎
CHAPTER 3

3:1 Finally, my achim, rejoice ba-Adon.  To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not tiresome, but for you it is safe.

3:2 Beware of the dogs, beware of the evil workers, beware of the false mulah.  3 For anachnu ha-mulah, who worship Elohim ba-Ruach, and rejoice in Mashiach Yeshua, and have no confidence ba-basar;  4 though I myself might have confidence even ba-basar.  If any other ben adam thinks that he has confidence ba-basar, I yet more:  5 circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Yisra'el, of the tribe of Binyamin, Ivri min ha-Ivrim; concerning ha-Torah, Parush;  6 concerning zeal, persecuting ha`edah; concerning tzidkat ha-Torah, found blameless.  7 However, what things were gain to me, these have I counted loss for Mashiach.  8 Yes most assuredly, and I count all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Mashiach Yeshua, Adoni, for whom I suffered the loss of all (things), and count them nothing but refuse, that I may gain Mashiach9 and be found in him, not having tz'dakah of my own, that which is of ha-Torah, but that which is through emunat ha-Mashiach, ha-tz'dakah which is from ha-Elohim ba-emunah;  10 that I may know him, and the power of his t'chiyah, and the koinōnia3-10 of his sufferings, becoming conformed to his mavet;  11 if by any means I may attain el-t'chiyat ha-metim.

3:12 Not that I have already obtained, or am already made perfect; but I press on, if it is so that I may take hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Mashiach Yeshua.  13 Achim, I don't regard myself as yet having laid hold, but one thing I do.  Forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before,  14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of Elohim ba-Mashiach Yeshua.  15 Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, think this way.  If in anything you think otherwise, Elohim will also reveal this to you.  16 Nevertheless, to the extent that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule3-16  Let us be of the same mind.

3:17 Achim, be imitators together of me, and note those who walk this way, even as you have us for an example.  18 For many walk, of whom I told you often, and now tell you even weeping, as the enemies of the stake of Mashiach,  19 whose end is ha-avaddon, whose elohim is the belly, and whose kavod is in their shame, who think about earthly things.  20 For our citizenship is in ha-shamayim, from where we also wait for a Moshia, ha-Adon Yeshua ha-Mashiach;  21 who will change ha-guf of our humiliation to be conformed to ha-guf of his kavod, according to the working whereby he is able even to subject all things to himself.

PEREQ ‏ד‎
CHAPTER 4

4:1 Therefore, my achim, beloved and longed for, my simchah and crown, so stand firm ba-Adon, my beloved.

4:2 I exhort Euodia, and I exhort Suntuchē, to think the same way ba-Adon.  3 Yes, I beg you also, true yoke-fellow, help these, for they labored with me ba-B'sorah, with Klēmēs also, and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are b'Sefer ha-Chayyim.

4:4 Rejoice ba-Adon always.  Again I will say, Rejoice!  5 Let your mildness be known to kol b'nei adam.  Ha-Adon is at hand.  6 In nothing be anxious, but in everything, bi't'fillah and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known l'Elohim.  7 U'shalom Elohim, which passes all understanding, will guard your l'vavot and your thoughts ba-Mashiach Yeshua.

4:8 Finally, achim, whatever things are emet, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are tzedek, whatever things are tahor, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things.  9 The things which you learned, received, heard, and saw in me: do these things, and Elohei shalom will be with you.

4:10 But I rejoice b'Adonai greatly, that now at length you have revived your thought for me; in which you did indeed take thought, but you lacked opportunity.  11 Not that I speak in respect to lack, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it.  12 I know how to be humbled, and I know also how to abound.  In everything and in all things have I learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in need.  13 I can do all (things) in the one empowering me, Mashiach.

4:14 However, you did well that you had koinōnia with my affliction.  15 You yourselves also know, you Philipsios, that in the beginning of ha-B'sorah, when I departed from Makedonia, no `edah had koinōnia with me in the matter of giving and receiving but you only.  16 For even in Thessaloni you sent once and again to my need.  17 Not that I seek for the gift, but I seek for the fruit that increases to your account.  18 But I have all things, and abound.  I am filled, having received from Epaphroditos the things that came from you, a sweet-smelling fragrance, an acceptable and well-pleasing sacrifice to Elohim.  19 My Elohim will supply every need of yours according to his riches b'kavod ba-Mashiach Yeshua.  20 Now l'Eloheinu Avinu ha-kavod l`olmei `olamim.  Amein.

4:21 Greet kol kadosh ba-Mashiach Yeshua.  Ha-achim who are with me greet you.  22 Kol ha-k'doshim greet you, especially those who are of beit Kaisar.

4:23 Chesed Adoneinu Yeshua ha-Mashiach be with you all.  Amein.
