CHAPTER 1

1:1 Sha'ul, shaliach Mashiach Yeshua through the will of Elohim, according to the promise of ha-chayyim asher bi'Mashiach Yeshua,

1:2 el Timotheos, my beloved son: Chesed, mercy, and shalom, from Elohim ha-Av and Mashiach Yeshua Adoneinu.

1:3 I thank Elohim, whom I serve as my ancestors did, with a pure conscience.  How unceasing is my memory of you in my petitions, lailah v'yomam,  4 longing to see you, remembering your tears, that I may be filled with simchah;  5 having been reminded of the unfeigned emunah that is in you; which lived first in your grandmother Lōis, and in your mother Euni, and, I am persuaded, in you also.  6 For this cause, I remind you that you should stir up the charisma of Elohim which is in you through the laying on of my hands.  7 For Elohim didn't give us a ruach of fear, but of power and ahavah and discipline.

1:8 Don't be ashamed, therefore, of `edut Adoneinu, nor of me, his prisoner; but suffer hardship with ha-B'sorah according to the power of Elohim,  9 who saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our ma`asim, but according to his own purpose and chesed, which was given to us in Mashiach Yeshua before times eternal,  10 but has now been revealed by the appearing of Moshienu, Mashiach Yeshua, who abolished death, and brought chayyim and immortality to light through ha-B'sorah.  11 For this, I was appointed as a maggid v'shaliach u'moreh ha-goyim.  12 For this cause I suffer also these things.  Yet I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that he is able to guard that which I have committed to him ad ha-yom ha-hu.  13 Hold the pattern of sound d'varim which you have heard from me ba-emunah u'v'ahavah asher ba-Mashiach Yeshua.  14 That good thing which was committed to you, guard through Ruach ha-Kodesh which dwells in us.

1:15 This you know, that all who are in Asia turned away from me; of whom are Fugelos and Hermogenēs.  16 May ha-Adon grant mercy to beit Onēsiforos, for he often refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain,  17 but when he was in Rōmi, he sought me diligently, and found me  18 (ha-Adon grant to him to find mercy of ha-Adon ba-yom ha-hu); and in how many things he served at Efesos, you know very well.

PEREQ ‏ב‎
CHAPTER 2

2:1 You, therefore, b'ni, be strengthened ba-chesed that is in Mashiach Yeshua.  2 The things which you have heard from me among many `edim, commit the same to b'nei adam ne'emanim, who will be able to teach others also.  3 You, therefore, must endure hardship as a good soldier of Mashiach Yeshua.  4 No soldier on service entangles himself in the affairs of life, so that he may please him who enrolled him as a soldier.  5 If also a man competes (in the games), he is not crowned, unless he has competed by the rules.  6 The farmers who labor must be the first to get a share of the crops.  7 Consider what I say, and may ha-Adon give you understanding in all (things).

2:8 Remember Yeshua ha-Mashiach, having been raised min ha-metim, zera David, according to my B'sorah,  9 in which I suffer hardship to the point of being bound as a criminal.  But d'var ha-Elohim isn't bound.  10 Therefore, I endure all things for the elect's sake, that they also may obtain ha-yeshu`ah ba-Mashiach Yeshua `im-k'vod `olamim.  11 This saying is ne'eman:
For if we died with him, we will also live with him.
12 If we endure, we will also reign with him.
If we will deny him, he also will deny us.
13 If we are faithless, he remains ne'eman --
he can't deny himself.

2:14 Remind them of these things, charging them in the sight of Adonai, that they don't argue about d'varim to no profit, to the subverting of those who hear.  15 Give diligence [study] to present yourself approved by Elohim, a workman who doesn't need to be ashamed, properly handling D'var ha-Emet.  16 But shun profane, empty babblings, for they will advance to more ungodliness,  17 and their word will consume like gangrene, of whom is Humenaios u'Filētos;  18 b'nei adam who have erred concerning ha-emet, saying that ha-t'chiyah is already past, and overthrowing ha-emunah of some.  19 However, the firm foundation of Elohim stands, having this seal:  "Adonai knows those who are his,"[A] and, "Let every one who names shem ha-Mashiach depart from unrighteousness."

2:20 Now in a bayit gadol there are not only vessels of zahav va-khesef, but also of wood and of clay.  Some are for honor, and some for dishonor.  21 If a man, therefore, purges himself from these, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, and suitable for the use of his ba`al, prepared for kol ma`aseh tov.  22 Flee from youthful lusts; but pursue tzedek v'emunah v'ahavah v'shalom with those who call on Adonai out of a lev tahor.  23 But refuse foolish and ignorant questionings, knowing that they generate strife.  24 `Eved Adonai must not quarrel, but be gentle towards all, able to teach, patient,  25 in gentleness correcting those who oppose him; if perhaps Elohim may give them repentance to the knowledge of ha-emet,  26 and they may recover themselves out of the snare of ha-malshin, having been taken captive by him to his will.

CHAPTER 3

3:1 But know this, that b'acharit ha-yamim, grievous times will come.  2 For b'nei adam will be lovers of self, lovers of kesef, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,  3 without natural affection, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, no lovers of good,  4 traitors, headstrong, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of Elohim;  5 holding a form of chasidut, but having denied the power thereof.  Turn away from these, also.  6 For of these are those who creep into batim and take captive gullible nashim loaded down with chata'im, led away by various lusts,  7 always learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of ha-emet.  8 Even as Yannis v'Yambris opposed Mosheh, so do these also oppose ha-emet; b'nei adam corrupted in mind, reprobate concerning ha-emunah.  9 But they will proceed no further.  For their folly will be evident to all, as theirs also came to be.

3:10 But you did follow my torah, conduct, purpose, emunah, patience, ahavah, steadfastness,  11 persecutions, and sufferings; those things that happened to me at Antiocheia, at Ikonion, at Lustra; those persecutions that I endured.  Out of them all Adonai delivered me.  12 Yes, and all who desire to live chasidut ba-Mashiach Yeshua will suffer persecution.  13 But evil anashim and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.  14 But you remain in the things which you have learned and have been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them.  15 From infancy, you have known k'tuvim ha-kodesh which are able to make you wise to yeshu`ah through emunah ba-Mashiach Yeshua.  16 Kol ha-katuv inspired by ruach Elohim is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction ba-tzedek,  17 that ish ha-Elohim may be complete, thoroughly equipped for kol ma`aseh tov.

CHAPTER 4

4:1 I charge you therefore lifnei Elohim v'ha-Adon Yeshua ha-Mashiach, who will judge ha-chayyim v'ha-metim at His appearing and His malkhut:  2 preach ha-davar; be urgent in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with all patience and teaching.  3 For the time will come when they will not bear sound torah, but, according to their own lusts, they will heap up for themselves morim tickling the ear;  4 and will turn away their ears from ha-emet, and turn aside to haggadot.  5 But you be sober in all things, suffer hardship, do the work of a maggid, and fulfill your ministry.

4:6 For I am already being offered, and the time of my departure has come.  7 I have fought the good fight.  I have finished the course.  I have kept ha-emunah.  8 From now on, there is stored up for me the crown of tz'dakah, which ha-Adon, ha-Shofet ha-Tzadik, will give to me ba-yom ha-hu; and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved his appearing.

4:9 Be diligent to come to me soon,  10 for Dēmas left me, having loved ha`olam hazeh, and went to Thessaloni; Krēskēs to Galatia, and Titos to Dalmatia.  11 Only Loukas is with me.  Take Markos, and bring him with you, for he is useful to me for ministering.  12 But I sent Tuchicos to Efesos.  13 Bring the cloak that I left at Trōas with Karpos, when you come, and ha-s'farim, especially the parchments [scrolls].  14 Alexandros, the coppersmith, did much evil to me.  Adonai will repay him according to his ma`asim,  15 of whom you also must beware; for he greatly opposed our d'varim.  16 At my first defense, no one took my part, but all left me.  May it not be held against them.  17 But Adonai stood by me, and strengthened me, that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and that kol ha-goyim might hear; and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.  18 And Adonai will deliver me mi kol ma`aseh ra, and will save me to his malkhut shebashamayim; to whom be ha-kavod l`olmei `olamim.  Amein.

4:19 Greet Priska and Akulas, and beit Onēsiforos.  20 Erastos remained at Korinthos, but I left Trofimos at Milētos sick.  21 Be diligent to come before winter.  Euboulos salutes you, as do Poudēs, Linos, Klaudia, v'khol ha-achim.

4:22 Ha-Adon Yeshua ha-Mashiach be with your ruach.  Chesed be with you.  Amein.
