8:10 Moshe took the anointing shemen and anointed ha-Mishkan and all that was in it, and sanctified them.  11 He sprinkled it `al-ha-mizbeach seven times, and anointed ha-mizbeach and all its vessels, and the basin and its base, to sanctify them.  12 He poured some of the anointing shemen `al rosh Aharon, and anointed him, to sanctify him.  13 Moshe brought b'nei Aharon, and clothed them with coats, and tied sashes on them, and put headbands on them; as YHWH commanded Moshe.

8:14 He brought the bull of ha-chattat, and Aharon and his banim laid their hands on the head of the bull of ha-chattat.  15 He killed it; and Moshe took the blood, and put it on the horns of ha-mizbeach round about with his finger, and purified ha-mizbeach, and poured out the blood at the base of ha-mizbeach, and sanctified it, to make atonement for it.  16 He took all the fat that was on the entrails, and the cover of the liver, and the two kidneys, and their fat; and Moshe made it smoke `al-ha-mizbeach.  17 But the bull, and its skin, and its basar, and its dung, he burned ba-esh outside the camp; as YHWH commanded Moshe.

8:18 The ram of ha`olah was presented: and Aharon and his banim laid their hands on the head of the ram.  19 He killed it; and Moshe sprinkled the blood `al-ha-mizbeach round about.  20 He cut the ram into its pieces; and Moshe made the head, and the pieces, and the fat smoke.  21 He washed the entrails and the legs ba-mayim; and Moshe made the whole ram smoke upon ha-mizbeach.  `Olah hu for a sweet savor.  Ishsheh hu la-YHWH; as YHWH commanded Moshe.

8:22 He presented ha-ayil ha-sheni, the ram of consecration: and Aharon and his banim laid their hands `al-rosh ha-ayil.  23 He killed it; and Moshe took some of its blood and put it on the tip of the right ear of Aharon and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the great toe of his right foot.  24 And b'nei Aharon were brought; and Moshe put some of the blood on the tip of their right ear, and on the thumb of their right hand, and on the great toe of their right foot; and Moshe sprinkled the blood on ha-mizbeach round about.  25 He took the fat, and the fat tail, and all the fat that was on the entrails, and the cover of the liver, and the two kidneys, and their fat, and the right thigh;  26 and out of the basket of matzot asher lifnei YHWH, he took challat matzah achat v'challat lechem shemen achat and one wafer, and placed them on the fat, and on the right thigh.  27 He put all these in the hands of Aharon and in the hands of his banim, and waved them for a t'nufah lefnei YHWH.  28 Moshe took them from their hands, and made them smoke on ha-mizbeach `al-ha`olah.  They were a consecration for a sweet savor.  Ishsheh hu la-YHWH.  29 Moshe took the breast and waved it for a t'nufah lifnei YHWH.  It was Moshe's portion of the ram of consecration, as YHWH commanded Moshe.

8:30 Moshe took some of the anointing shemen and some of the blood which was `al-ha-mizbeach and sprinkled it on Aharon, on his garments, and on his banim, and on the garments of his banim with him, and sanctified Aharon, his garments, and his banim, and garments of his banim with him.

8:31 Vayomer Moshe el-Aharon and to his banim, "Boil ha-basar (at the) petach Ohel Mo`ed, and there eat it and ha-lechem that is in the basket of consecration, as I commanded, saying, 'Aharon and his banim shall eat it.'  32 What remains of ha-basar and of ha-lechem you shall burn ba-esh.  33 U'mi-petach Ohel Mo`ed you shall not go out for shiv`at yamim, until the days of your consecration are fulfilled: for he shall consecrate you for shiv`at yamim.  34 What has been done ba-yom ha-zeh, so YHWH has commanded to do, to make atonement for you.  35 U'fetach Ohel Mo`ed you shall stay yomam va'lailah, and keep the charge of YHWH, that you don't die: for so I am commanded."  36 Aharon and his banim did all the things which YHWH commanded by Moshe.

CHAPTER 9

9:1 Va'y'hi ba-yom ha-shmini that Moshe called Aharon and his banim u'l'ziknei Yisra'el;  2 vayomer el-Aharon, "Take a calf from the herd l'chattat v'ayil l`olah, without blemish, and offer them lifnei YHWH.  3 You shall speak l'b'nei Yisra'el, lemor, 'Take a male goat l'chattat; and a calf and a lamb, b'nei shanah, without blemish, l`olah;  4 and an ox and an ayil l'shlamim, to sacrifice lifnei YHWH; u'mincha mixed ba-shemen: ki ha-yom YHWH appears to you.'"  5 They brought what Moshe commanded el-p'nei ohel mo`ed: and kol ha-`edah drew near and stood lifnei YHWH.  6 Vayomer Moshe, "Zeh ha-davar asher YHWH commanded that you should do: and kavod YHWH shall appear to you."  7 Vayomer Moshe el-Aharon, "Draw near el-ha-mizbeach, and offer your chattat, and your `olah, and make atonement for yourself, and for the people; and offer korban ha`am, and make atonement for them; as YHWH commanded."

9:8 So Aharon drew near el-ha-mizbeach, and killed the calf of ha-chattat, which was for himself.  9 B'nei Aharon presented the blood to him; and he dipped his finger in the blood, and put it on the horns of ha-mizbeach, and poured out the blood at the base of ha-mizbeach:  10 but the fat, and the kidneys, and the cover from the liver min-ha-chattat, he made to smoke upon ha-mizbeach; as YHWH commanded Moshe.  11 V'ha-basar and the skin he burned ba-esh outside the camp.

9:12 He killed ha`olah; and b'nei Aharon delivered the blood to him, and he sprinkled it `al-ha-mizbeach round about.  13 They delivered ha`olah to him, piece by piece, v'ha-rosh: and he burned them `al-ha-mizbeach.  14 He washed the entrails and the legs, and made them to smoke `al-ha`olah (on) ha-mizbeach.

9:15 He presented korban ha`am, and took the goat of ha-chattat which was for ha`am, and killed it, and offered it for sin, like ha-rishon.  16 He presented ha`olah, and offered it according to ha-mishpat.  17 He presented ha-minchah, and filled his hand from there, and made it smoke upon ha-mizbeach, besides `olah ha-boker.

9:18 He also killed the ox and ha-ayil, zevach ha-shlamim, which was for ha`am: and b'nei Aharon delivered to him the blood, which he sprinkled `al-ha-mizbeach round about,  19 and the fat of the ox and of ha-ayil, the fat tail, and that which covers the innards, and the kidneys, and the cover of the liver:  20 and they put the fat upon the breasts, and he made the fat to smoke `al-ha-mizbeach:  21 and the breasts and the right thigh Aharon waved for a t'nufah lifnei YHWH, as Moshe commanded.

9:22 Aharon lifted up his hands toward ha`am and blessed them; and he came down from offering ha-chattat v'ha`olah v'ha-shlamim.  23 Moshe v'Aharon went el-Ohel Mo`ed, and came out, and blessed ha`am: and kavod YHWH appeared to kol ha`am.  24 There came forth esh mi-lifnei YHWH, and consumed ha`olah and the fat `al-ha-mizbeach: and when kol ha`am saw it, they shouted, and fell on their faces.

CHAPTER 10

10:1 B'nei Aharon Nadav v'Avihu each took his censer and put fire in it and laid incense on it and offered strange fire lifnei YHWH, which he had not commanded them.  2 Then came forth esh mi-lifnei YHWH, and devoured them, and they died lifnei YHWH.  3 Vayomer Moshe el-Aharon, "Hu asher daber YHWH lemor, 'I will show myself holy to those who come near me, v'`al-p'nei kol ha`am I will be glorified.'" Aharon kept silence.

10:4 Moshe called Misha'el v'Eltzafan, b'nei `Uzzi'el, the uncle of Aharon, vayomer to them, "Draw near, carry your achim from p'nei ha-Kodesh out of the camp."  5 So they drew near, and carried them in their coats out of the camp, ka-asher diber Moshe.  6 Vayomer Moshe el-Aharon u'l'El`azar u'l'Itamar, his banim, "Don't let the hair of your heads go loose, neither tear your clothes; that you don't die, and that he not be angry with kol ha-`edah: but let your achim, kol beit Yisra'el, bewail the burning which YHWH has kindled.  7 You shall not go out mi-petach Ohel Mo`ed, lest you die; for the anointing oil of YHWH is on you."  They did according to d'var Moshe.

10:8 Vai-daber YHWH el-Aharon, lemor,  9 "Drink no yayin nor strong drink, you, nor your banim with you, when you go el-Ohel Mo`ed, that you don't die: (it shall be a) chuchat `olam throughout your dorot:  10 and that you are to make a distinction bein ha-kodesh and the common, u'vein ha-tame u'vein ha-tahor;  11 and that you are to teach b'nei Yisra'el et kol ha-chukkim asher diber YHWH to them `al-yad Moshe."

10:12 Vai-daber Moshe el-Aharon v'el El`azar v'el-Itamar, his banim who were left, "Take ha-minchah that remains me-ishsheh YHWH, and eat it without matzah beside ha-mizbeach; ki kodesh kadashim hi;  13 and you shall eat it ba-maqom kadosh, because it is your portion, and the portion of your banim, me-ishsheh YHWH: for so I am commanded.  14 The breast of ha-t'nufah and the thigh of ha-t'rumah you shall eat ba-maqom tahor, you, and your banim, and your banot with you: for they are given as your portion, and the portion of your banim, out of the sacrifices of the shlamim of b'nei Yisra'el.  15 The thigh of ha-t'rumah and the breast of ha-t'nufah they shall bring with ishsheh of the fat, to wave it for a t'nufah lifnei YHWH: and it shall be for you and your banim with you, as a portion l`olam; as YHWH has commanded."

10:16 Moshe diligently inquired about the goat of ha-chattat, v'hinneh, it was burned: and he was angry `al-El`azar v`al-Itamar, b'nei Aharon who were left, saying,  17 "Why haven't you eaten ha-chattat b'm'kom ha-Kodesh, ki kodesh kadashim hi, and he has given it you to bear the iniquity of ha`edah, to make atonement for them lifnei YHWH?  18 Behold, its blood was not brought into ha-Kodesh: you certainly should have eaten it ba-Kodesh, as I commanded."  19 Vai-daber Aharon el-Moshe, "Behold, this day they have offered their chattat and their `olah lifnei YHWH; and such things as these have befallen me: and if I had eaten ha-chattat ha-yom, would it have been pleasing in the sight of YHWH?"  20 When Moshe heard that, it was pleasing in his sight.

11:1 Vai-daber YHWH el-Mosheh v'el Aharon lemor,   2 "Speak el-b'nei Yisra'el, lemor, 'Zot ha-chayyah which you may eat mi-kol ha'b'hemah asher `al-ha-aretz.  3 Whatever parts the hoof, and is cloven-footed, and chews the cud ba-b'hemah, that you may eat.  4 "'Nevertheless these you shall not eat of those that chew the cud, or of those who part the hoof: ha-gamel, because he chews the cud but doesn't have a parted hoof, tameh hu to you.  5 The coney, because he chews the cud but doesn't have a parted hoof, tameh hu to you.  6 The hare, because she chews the cud but doesn't part the hoof, tameh hi to you.  7 Ha-chazir, because he has a split hoof, and is cloven-footed, but doesn't chew the cud, tameh hu to you.  8 Of their basar you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch; they are tameh to you.

11:9 These you may eat mi-kol asher ba-mayim: whatever has fins and scales ba-mayim, ba-yamim, and in the rivers, that you may eat.  10 All that don't have fins and scales ba-yamim and in the rivers, of all that move ba-mayim, u'mi kol nefesh chayyah asher ba-mayim, they are an abomination to you,  11 and you detest them.  You shall not eat of their basar, and you shall detest their carcasses.  12 Whatever has no fins nor scales ba-mayim, that is an abomination to you.

11:13 "'These you shall detest among the birds; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the bearded vulture, and the buzzard,  14 and the red kite, any kind of black kite,  15 any kind of raven,  16 the ostrich, the screech owl, and the gull, any kind of hawk,  17 the little owl, the cormorant, and the great owl,  18 the white owl, the desert owl, the osprey,  19 ha-khasidah, any kind of heron, the hoopoe, and the bat.

11:20 "'All flying insects that walk on all fours are an abomination to you.  21 Yet you may eat these: of all winged creeping things that go on all fours, which have legs above their feet, with which to hop `al-ha-aretz.  22 Even of these you may eat: ha-arbeh [H697 - swarming locust] after its kind, ha-sal`am [H5556 - devastating locust] after its kind, ha-chargol [H2728 - a kind of locust; cricket] after its kind, and he-chagav [H2284 - locust; grasshopper] after its kind.  23 But all winged creeping things which have four feet, are an abomination to you.

11:24 "'By these you will become tameh: whoever touches the carcass of them shall be tameh `ad-ha`arev.  25 Whoever carries any part of their carcass shall wash his clothes, and be tameh `ad-ha`arev.  26 "'Kol ha-b'hemah which parts the hoof, and is not cloven-footed, nor chews the cud, is tameh to you.  Everyone who touches them shall be tameh.  27 Whatever goes on its paws, b'khol ha-chayyah that go on all fours, they are tameh to you.  Whoever touches their carcass shall be tameh `ad-ha`arev.  28 He who carries their carcass shall wash his clothes, and be tameh `ad-ha`arev.  They are tameh to you.

11:29 "'These are they which are tameh to you among the creeping things that creep `al-ha-aretz: the mole, the rat, the great lizard after its kind,  30 v'ha-anaqah [the ferret or shrewmouse] v'ha-koach [? a kind of lizard] v'ha-l'ta'ah [another lizard] v'ha-chomet [another lizard] v'ha-tinshamet [owl? chameleon?].  31 Eleh ha-t'me'im to you among all that creep.  Whoever touches them when they are dead, shall be tameh `ad-ha`arev.  32 On whatever any of them falls when they are dead, it shall be tameh; whether it is any vessel of wood, or clothing, or skin, or sack, whatever vessel it is, with which any work is done, it must be put ba-mayim, and it shall be tameh `ad-ha`erev; then it will be tahor.  33 Every earthen vessel, into which any of them falls, all that is in it shall be tameh, and you shall break it.  34 All food therein which may be eaten, that on which mayim comes, shall be tameh; and all drink that may be drunk in every such vessel shall be tameh.  35 Everything whereupon part of their carcass falls shall be tameh; whether oven, or range for pots, it shall be broken in pieces: they are tameh, and shall be tameh to you.  36 Nevertheless a spring or a cistern in which is a gathering of mayim shall be tahor: but that which touches their carcass shall be tameh.  37 If part of their carcass falls on any sowing zera which is to be sown, it is clean.  38 But if mayim is put `al-zera, and part of their carcass falls on it, it is tameh to you.

11:39 "'If any b'hemah, of which you may eat, dies; he who touches its carcass shall be tameh `ad-ha`arev.  40 He who eats of its carcass shall wash his clothes, and be tameh `ad-ha`arev.  He also who carries its carcass shall wash his clothes, and be tameh `ad-ha`arev.

11:41 "'Every creeping thing that creeps `al-ha-aretz is an abomination.  It shall not be eaten.  42 Whatever goes on its belly, and whatever goes on all fours, or whatever has many feet, even all creeping things that creep `al-ha-aretz, them you shall not eat; for they are an abomination.  43 You shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creeps, neither shall you make yourselves tameh with them, that you should be defiled thereby.  44 Ki ani YHWH Elohekhem.  Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be k'doshim; ki kadosh ani: neither shall you defile yourselves with any kind of creeping thing that moves `al-ha-aretz.  45 Ki ani YHWH who brought you up me-eretz Mitzrayim, to be your Elohim.  You shall therefore be k'doshim, ki kadosh ani.

11:46 "'Zot torat ha-b'hemah, and of the bird, v'khol nefesh ha-chayyah that moves ba-mayim, u'l'khol nefesh that creeps `al-ha-aretz,  47 to make a distinction bein ha-tameh u'vein ha-tahor, u'vein ha-chayyah that may be eaten u'vein ha-chayyah that may not be eaten.'"

CHAPTER 13

13:1 Vai-daber YHWH el-Mosheh v'el-Aharon lemor,   2 "When a man shall have a rising in his body's skin, or a scab, or a bright spot, and it becomes in the skin of his body the plague of tsara`at, then he shall be brought el-Aharon ha-Kohen, or to one of his banim, ha-Kohanim:  3 and ha-Kohen shall examine the plague in the skin of ha-basar: and if the hair in the plague has turned white, and the appearance of the plague is deeper than the skin of ha-basar, the plague of tsara`at hu; and ha-Kohen shall examine him, and pronounce him tameh.  4 If the bright spot is white in the skin of his basar, and the appearance of it isn't deeper than the skin, and the hair of it hasn't turned white, then ha-Kohen shall isolate the infected person for shiv`at yamim.  5 Ha-Kohen shall look at him ba-yom ha-shvi`i, v'hinneh, if in his eyes the plague is arrested, and the plague hasn't spread in the skin, then ha-Kohen shall isolate him for shiv`at yamim more.  6 Ha-Kohen shall look at him again ba-yom ha-shvi`i; v'hinneh, if the plague has faded, and the plague hasn't spread in the skin, then ha-Kohen shall pronounce him tahor.  It is a scab.  He shall wash his clothes, and be tahor.  7 But if the scab spreads on the skin, after he has shown himself to ha-Kohen for his cleansing, he shall show himself to ha-Kohen again.  8 Ha-Kohen shall look at him; v'hinneh, if the scab has spread on the skin, then ha-Kohen shall pronounce him tameh.  Tsara`at hi.

13:9 "When the plague of tsara`at b'adam, then he shall be brought el-ha-Kohen;  10 and ha-Kohen shall look at him.  V'hinneh, if there is a white rising in the skin, and it has turned the hair white, and there is raw basar in the rising,  11 it is a chronic tsara`at in the skin of his basar, and ha-Kohen shall pronounce him tameh.  He shall not isolate him, ki tameh hu.  12 "If ha-tsara`at breaks out all over the skin, and ha-tsara`at covers all the skin of the infected person from his head even to his feet, as far as it appears to ha-Kohen;  13 then ha-Kohen shall look at him; v'hinneh, if ha-tsara`at has covered all his basar, he shall pronounce him clean of the plague.  It has all turned white: tahor hu.  14 But whenever raw basar appears in him, he shall be tameh.  15 Ha-Kohen shall look at the raw basar, and pronounce him tameh: the raw basar is tameh.  Tsara`at hu.  16 Or if the raw basar turns again, and is changed to white, then he shall come el-ha-Kohen;  17 and ha-Kohen shall look on him; v'hinneh, if the plague has turned white, then ha-Kohen shall pronounce him tahor of the plague.  Tahor hu.

13:18 "When ha-basar has a boil on its skin, and it has healed,  19 and in the place of the boil there is a white rising, or a bright spot, reddish-white, then it shall be shown to ha-Kohen;  20 and ha-Kohen shall look on it; v'hinneh, if the appearance of it is lower than the skin, and the hair of it has turned white, then ha-Kohen shall pronounce him tameh.  Tsara`at hi.  It has broken out in the boil.  21 But if ha-Kohen looks on it, v'hinneh, there are no white hairs in it, and it isn't deeper than the skin, but is dim, then ha-Kohen shall isolate him shiv`at yamim.  22 If it spreads in the skin, then ha-Kohen shall pronounce him tameh.  It is a plague.  23 But if the bright spot stays in its place and hasn't spread, it is the scar from the boil; and ha-Kohen shall pronounce him tahor.

13:24 "Or when ha-basar has a burn from fire on its skin, and the raw (flesh) of the burn becomes a bright spot, reddish-white, or white,  25 then ha-Kohen shall look on it; v'hinneh, if the hair in the bright spot has turned white, and the appearance of it is deeper than the skin, tsara`at hi.  It has broken out in the burning, and ha-Kohen shall pronounce him tameh.  The plague of tsara`at hi.  26 But if ha-Kohen looks on it, v'hinneh, there is no white hair in the bright spot, and it isn't lower than the skin, but is faded; then ha-Kohen shall isolate him shiv`at yamim.  27 Ha-Kohen shall look on him ba-yom ha-shvi`i.  If it has spread in the skin, then ha-Kohen shall pronounce him tameh.  The plague of tsara`at hi.  28 If the bright spot stays in its place, and hasn't spread in the skin, but is faded, it is the swelling from the burn, and ha-Kohen shall pronounce him tahor; for it is the scar from the burn.

13:29 "(When an) ish o ishshah has a plague b'rosh or on the beard,  30 ha-Kohen shall look on the plague; v'hinneh, if the appearance of it is deeper than the skin, and the hair in it is yellow and thin, then ha-Kohen shall pronounce him tameh: it is an itch, it is tsara`at ha-rosh or of the beard.  31 If ha-Kohen looks on the plague of itching, v'hinneh, its appearance isn't deeper than the skin, and there is no black hair in it, then ha-Kohen shall isolate the person infected with itching shiv`at yamim.  32 Ha-Kohen shall look on the plague ba-yom ha-shvi`i; v'hinneh, if the itch hasn't spread, and there is no yellow hair in it, and the appearance of the itch isn't deeper than the skin,  33 then he shall be shaved, but he shall not shave the itch; and ha-Kohen shall shut him up who has the itch shiv`at yamim more.  34 Ha-Kohen shall look on the itch ba-yom ha-shvi`i; v'hinneh, if the itch hasn't spread in the skin, and its appearance isn't deeper than the skin, then ha-Kohen shall pronounce him tahor.  He shall wash his clothes and be clean.  35 But if the itch spreads in the skin after his cleansing,  36 then ha-Kohen shall look on him; v'hinneh, if the itch has spread in the skin, ha-Kohen shall not look for the yellow hair; tameh hu.  37 But if in his eyes the itch is arrested, and black hair has grown in it, the itch is healed; he is tahor.  Ha-Kohen shall pronounce him tahor.

13:38 "(When an) ish o ishshah has bright spots in the skin of the body, even white bright spots;  39 then ha-Kohen shall look on them; v'hinneh, if the bright spots on the skin of their body are a dull white, it is a harmless rash, it has broken out in the skin; tahor hu.

13:40 "If a man's hair has fallen from his head, he is bald.  Tahor hu.  41 If his hair has fallen off from the front part of his head, he is forehead bald.  Tahor hu.  42 But if there is in the bald head, or the bald forehead, a reddish-white plague, tsara`at hu breaking out in his bald head, or his bald forehead.  43 Then ha-Kohen shall look on him; v'hinneh, if the rising of the plague is reddish-white in his bald head, or in his bald forehead, like the appearance of tsara`at in the skin of the basar,  44 ish tsaru`a hu;  tameh hu.  Ha-Kohen shall surely pronounce him tameh.  His plague is on his head.

13:45 "Ha-tzaru`a in whom the plague is shall wear torn clothes, and the hair of his head shall hang loose.  He shall cover his upper lip, and shall cry, 'Tameh! Tameh!'  46 Kol y'mei in which the plague is in him, he shall be tameh.  Tameh hu.  He shall dwell alone.  Outside of the camp shall be his dwelling.  47 The garment also that the plague of tsaraat is in, whether it is a woolen garment, or a linen garment;  48 whether it is in warp, or woof; of linen, or of wool; whether in a skin, or in anything made of skin;  49 if the plague is greenish or reddish in the garment, or in the skin, or in the warp, or in the woof, or in anything made of skin; it is the plague of tsara`at, and shall be shown to ha-Kohen.  50 Ha-Kohen shall look on the plague, and isolate the plague shiv'at yamim.  51 He shall look on the plague ba-yom ha-shvi`i.  If the plague has spread in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in the skin, whatever use the skin is used for, the plague is a destructive tsara`at.  Tameh hu.  52 He shall burn the garment, whether the warp or the woof, in wool or in linen, or anything of skin, in which the plague is: for it is a destructive tsara`at.  It shall be burned ba-esh.

13:53 "If ha-Kohen looks on it, v'hinneh, the plague hasn't spread in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in anything of skin;  54 then ha-Kohen shall command that they wash the thing in which the plague is, and he shall isolate it shiv`at yamim more.  55 Then ha-Kohen shall look on it, after the plague is washed; v'hinneh, if the plague hasn't changed its color, and the plague hasn't spread, tameh hu; you shall burn it ba-esh.  It is an eating away, whether the bareness is inside or outside.

13:56 If ha-Kohen looks, v'hinneh, the plague has faded after it is washed, then he shall tear it out of the garment, or out of the skin, or out of the warp, or out of the woof:  57 and if it appears again in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in anything of skin, it is spreading.  You shall burn with fire that in which the plague is.  58 The garment, either the warp, or the woof, or whatever thing of skin it is, which you shall wash, if the plague has departed from them, then it shall be washed the second time, and it will be tahor."

13:59 This is the torah of the plague of tsara`at in a garment of wool or linen, either in the warp, or the woof, or in anything of skin, to pronounce it tahor, or to pronounce it tameh.

14:21 "If he is poor, and his hand cannot reach14-21 (so much), then he shall take one male lamb for an asham to be waved, to make atonement for him, and one tenth (of an efah) of fine flour mingled with shemen for a minchah, and a log of shemen;  22 and two turtledoves, or two b'nei yonah, which his hand can reach;14-22 and they shall be echad chattat v'ha-echad `olah.  23 "Ba-yom ha-shmini he shall bring them for his cleansing el-ha-Kohen el-petach Ohel Mo`ed lifnei YHWH.  24 Ha-Kohen shall take the lamb of ha-asham and the log of shemen, and ha-Kohen shall wave them for t'nufah lifnei YHWH.  25 He shall kill the lamb of ha-asham. Ha-Kohen shall take mi-dam ha-asham and put it on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot.  26 U'min ha-shemen, ha-Kohen shall pour some into the palm of his own left hand;  27 and ha-Kohen shall sprinkle with his right finger min-ha-shemen that is in his left hand seven times lifnei YHWH.  28 Then ha-Kohen shall put, min-ha-shemen that is in his hand, on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot, `al-maqom dam ha-asham.  29 The rest of ha-shemen that is in the hand of ha-Kohen he shall put `al-rosh of him who is to be cleansed, to make atonement for him lifnei YHWH.  30 He shall offer one of the turtledoves, o min b'nei ha-yonah, from that which his hand can reach,14-30 31 that to which his hand has reached,14-31 ha-echad chattat, v'et ha-echad `olah, `al ha-minchah.  Ha-Kohen shall make atonement for him who is to be cleansed lifnei YHWH."  32 Zot torat of him in whom is the plague of tsara`at, which his hand could not reach,14-32 that which pertains to his cleansing.

14:33 Vai-daber YHWH el-Mosheh v'el-Aharon lemor,   34 "When you have come el-eretz Kna`an which I give to you for a possession, and I put a spreading tsara`at in a bayit in the land of your possession,  35 then he whose bayit it is shall come and tell ha-Kohen, lemor, 'There seems to me to be some sort of plague ba-bayit.'  36 Ha-Kohen shall command that they empty ha-bayit, before ha-Kohen goes in to examine the plague, that all that is ba-bayit not be made tameh: and afterward ha-Kohen shall go in to look at ha-bayit.  37 He shall look on the plague; v'hinneh, if the plague is in the walls of ha-bayit with hollow streaks, greenish or reddish, and it appears to be deeper than the wall;  38 then ha-Kohen shall go out of ha-bayit el-petach ha-bayit, and shut up ha-bayit shiv`at yamim.  39 Ha-Kohen shall come again ba-yom ha-shivi`i and look.  If the plague has spread in the walls of ha-bayit,  40 then ha-Kohen shall command that they take out the stones in which is the plague, and cast them into a maqom tameh outside ha`ir:  41 and he shall cause the inside of ha-bayit to be scraped round about, and they shall pour out the mortar, that they scraped off, outside of the city el-maqom tameh.  42 They shall take other stones, and put them in the place of those stones; and he shall take other mortar, and shall plaster ha-bayit.

14:43 "If the plague comes again, and breaks out ba-bayit, after he has taken out the stones, and after he has scraped ha-bayit, and after it was plastered;  44 then ha-Kohen shall come in and look; v'hinneh, if the plague has spread ba-bayit, it is a destructive tsara`at ba-bayit.  Tameh hu.  45 He shall break down ha-bayit, its stones and its timber and all the mortar of ha-bayit.  He shall carry them out of ha`ir el-maqom tameh.  46 "And whoever who goes el-ha-bayit while it is shut up shall be tameh `ad-ha-`arev.  47 He who lies down ba-bayit shall wash his clothes; and he who eats ba-bayit shall wash his clothes.

14:48 "If ha-Kohen shall come in and look at it, v'hinneh, the plague hasn't spread ba-bayit, after ha-bayit was plastered, then ha-Kohen shall pronounce ha-bayit tahor, because the plague is healed.  49 To cleanse ha-bayit he shall take two birds, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop.  50 He shall kill one of the birds in an earthen vessel `al-mayim chayyim.  51 He shall take the cedar wood, and the hyssop, and the scarlet, and the living bird, and dip them in the blood of the slain bird, and ba-mayim ha-chayyim, and sprinkle ha-bayit seven times.  52 He shall cleanse ha-bayit with the blood of the bird, and ba-mayim ha-chayyim, with the living bird, with the cedar wood, with the hyssop, and with the scarlet;  53 but he shall let the living bird go out of ha`ir el-panei ha-sadeh. So shall he make atonement for ha-bayit; and it shall be tahor."

14:54 Zot ha-torah for any plague of tsara`at, and for an itch,  55 and for the tsara`at of a garment, v'la-bayit,  56 and for a rising, and for a scab, and for a bright spot;  57 to teach ba-yom ha-tameh u'v'yom ha-tahor.  Zot torat ha-tsara`at.

CHAPTER 16

16:1 Vai-daber YHWH el-Mosheh acharei mot shnei b'nei Aharon when they drew lifnei YHWH and died;  2 vayomer YHWH el-Mosheh, "Tell Aharon your ach, not to come at all times el-ha-Kodesh mi-beit la-parokhet, el-p'nei ha-kapporet asher `al-ha-aron lest he die: for I will appear in the cloud `al-ha-kapporet.  3 "By this shall Aharon come el-ha-Kodesh: with a young bull for a chattat, and a ram for an `olah.  4 He shall put on the holy linen coat, and he shall have the linen breeches on his basar, and shall put on the linen sash, and he shall be dressed with the linen turban.  They are the holy garments.  He shall bathe his basar in mayim, and put them on.  5 He shall take from `adat b'nei Yisra'el two male goats for a chattat and one ram for an `olah.

16:6 "Aharon shall offer the bull of ha-chattat, which is for himself, and make atonement for himself and for his bayit.  16:7 He shall take the two goats, and set them lifnei YHWH petach Ohel Mo`ed.  8 Aharon shall cast lots for the two goats; echad l'YHWH and echad l`azazel.  9 Aharon shall present the goat on which the lot fell la-YHWH, and offer him for a chattat.  10 But the goat on which the lot fell for `azazel shall be presented alive lifnei YHWH to make atonement for him, to send him away la`azazel into ha-midbar.

16:11 "Aharon shall present the bull of ha-chattat, which is for himself, and shall make atonement for himself and for his bayit, and shall kill the bull of ha-chattat which is for himself.  12 He shall take a censer full of coals of fire me`al ha-mizbeach before YHWH, and two handfuls of sweet incense beaten small, and bring it mi-beit la-parokhet:  13 and he shall put the incense on the fire lifnei YHWH, that the cloud of the incense may cover ha-kapporet asher `al-ha-`edut, so that he will not die.  14 He shall take some of the blood of the bull, and sprinkle it with his finger `al-p'nei ha-kapporet on the east; v'lifnei ha-kapporet he shall sprinkle some of the blood with his finger seven times.

16:15 "Then he shall kill the goat of ha-chattat asher la`am, and bring his blood el-mi-beit ha-parokhet, and do with his blood as he did with the blood of the bull, and sprinkle it `al-ha-kapporet v'lifnei ha-kapporet:  16 and he shall make atonement `al-ha-Kodesh, because of the uncleanness of b'nei Yisra'el, and because of their transgressions, even all their chata'im; and so he shall do l'Ohel Mo`ed that dwells with them in the midst of their uncleanness.  17 V'khol adam lo yiyeh b'Ohel Mo`ed when he enters to make atonement ba-Kodesh, until he comes out, and has made atonement for himself and for his bayit, and for kol q'hal Yisra'el.  18 "He shall go out el-ha-mizbeach asher lifnei YHWH and make atonement for it, and shall take some of the bull's blood, and some of the goat's blood, and put it on the horns of ha-mizbeach round about.  19 He shall sprinkle some of the blood on it with his finger seven times, and cleanse it, and make it kadosh from the uncleanness of b'nei Yisra'el.

16:20 "When he has made an end of atoning for ha-Kodesh v'et Ohel Mo`ed v'et ha-mizbeach, he shall present the live goat.  21 Aharon shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of b'nei Yisra'el, and all their transgressions, even all their chata'im; and he shall put them on the head of the goat, and shall send him away into ha-midbar by the hand of a man who is in readiness.  22 The goat shall carry all their iniquities on himself to a solitary eretz, and he shall let the goat go ba-midbar.

16:23 "Aharon shall come el-Ohel Mo`ed and shall take off the linen garments, which he put on when he went el-ha-Kodesh, and shall leave them there.  24 Then he shall bathe his basar ba-mayim b'maqom kadosh and put on his garments, and come out and offer his `olah and `olat ha`am, and make atonement for himself and for ha`am.  25 The fat of ha-chattat he shall make it to smoke on ha-mizbeach.  26 He who lets the goat go la-`azazel shall wash his clothes, and bathe his basar ba-mayim, and afterward he shall come into the camp.  27 The bull for ha-chattat and the goat for ha-chattat, whose blood was brought in to make atonement ba-Kodesh, shall be carried forth outside the camp; and they shall burn their skins, their basar, and their dung ba-esh.  28 He who burns them shall wash his clothes, and bathe his basar ba-mayim, and afterward he shall come into the camp.

16:29 "It shall be for you a chukkat `olam: ba-chodesh ha-shvi'i, on the tenth day of ha-chodesh, you shall afflict your nafshot, and shall do no manner of work, the native-born, v'ha-ger who sojourns among you:  30 ki ba-yom hazeh shall atonement be made for you, to cleanse you; from all your chata'im you shall be clean lifnei YHWH.  31 Shabbat shabbaton hi to you, and you shall afflict your nafshot; chukkat `olam.  32 Ha-Kohen, who is anointed and who is consecrated to be Kohen in his father's place, shall make the atonement, and shall put on the linen garments, even the holy garments.  33 Then he shall make atonement for Mikdash ha-Kodesh; and he shall make atonement for Ohel Mo`ed v'et ha-mizbeach; and he shall make atonement for ha-Kohanim v`al-kol`am ha-qahal.  34 "This shall be a chukkat `olam for you, to make atonement for b'nei Yisra'el echat ba-shanah because of all their chata'im."  It was done as YHWH commanded Mosheh.

18:24 "'Don't defile yourselves in any of these things: for in all these ha-goyim which I am casting out before you were defiled.  25 Ha-aretz was defiled: therefore I punished its iniquity, and ha-aretz vomitted out her inhabitants.  26 You therefore shall keep my chukkim and my mishpatim, and shall not do any of these abominations; neither the native-born, nor ha-ger who sojourns among you;  27 (for all these abominations have anshei ha-aretz done, that were before you, and ha-aretz became defiled);  28 that ha-aretz not vomit you out also, when you defile it, as it vomited out ha-goy that was before you.  29 For whoever shall do any of these abominations, even ha-nafshot that do them shall be cut off from among their people.  30 Therefore you shall keep my chukkot, that you do not practice any of these abominable customs, which were practiced before you, and that you do not defile yourselves with them: Ani YHWH Eloheikhem.'"

19:1 Vai-daber YHWH el-Mosheh lemor,  2 Daber `al-kol-`adat b'nei Yisra'el, and tell them, You shall be k'doshim; ki kadosh ani YHWH Eloheikhem.  3 You shall fear every man his mother, and his father; and you shall keep my Shabbatot: Ani YHWH Eloheikhem.  4 Don't turn to idols, nor make to yourselves molten elohim: Ani YHWH Eloheikhem.

19:5 When you offer a zevach shlamim la-YHWH, you shall offer it that you may be accepted.  6 It shall be eaten the same day you offer it, and on the next day: and if anything remain `ad-yom ha-shlishi, it shall be burnt ba-esh.  7 If it be eaten at all ba-yom ha-shlishi, it is an abomination; it shall not be accepted:  8 but everyone who eats it shall bear his iniquity, because he has profaned kodesh (thing of) YHWH: and ha-nefesh ha-hi shall be cut off from his people.

19:9 When you reap the harvest of your eretz, you shall not wholly reap the corners of your sadeh, neither shall you gather the gleaning of your harvest.  10 You shall not glean your kerem, neither shall you gather the fallen fruit of your kerem; you shall leave them for the poor and for ha-ger: Ani YHWH Eloheikhem.

19:11 You shall not steal; neither shall you deal falsely, nor lie one to another.  12 You shall not swear by my name falsely,19-12 and profane shem Eloheikhah: Ani YHWH.

19:13 You shall not oppress your neighbor, nor rob him: the wages of a hired laborer shall not remain with you all night `ad-boker.  14 You shall not curse the deaf, nor put a stumbling block before the blind; but you shall fear your Elohim: Ani YHWH.

19:15 You shall do no unrighteousness ba-mishpat: you shall not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty; but b'tzedek shall you judge your neighbor.  16 You shall not go up and down as a talebearer among your people: neither shall you stand against the blood of your neighbor: Ani YHWH.

19:17 You shall not hate your brother in your heart: you shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear chet because of him.  18 You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the banim of your people; but ahavta l're'akha kamokha: Ani YHWH.

19:19 You shall keep my chukkim.  You shall not let your b'hemot breed with a diverse kind: you shall not sow your sadeh with two kinds of zera: neither shall there come on you a garment of two kinds of stuff mixed together.

19:20 Whoever lies carnally with an ishshah who is a bondmaid, pledged to be married to an ish, and not at all redeemed, nor freedom given her; they shall be punished; they shall not be put to death, because she was not free.  21 He shall bring his asham la-YHWH, el-petach mo`ed, even a ram for an asham.  22 Ha-Kohen shall make atonement for him with the ram of the asham lifnei YHWH for his chet which he has sinned: and the chet which he has sinned shall be forgiven him.

19:23 When you shall come el-ha-aretz, and shall have planted all manner of etz for food, then you shall count the fruit of it as their uncircumcision: three years shall they be as uncircumcised to you; it shall not be eaten.  24 But in the fourth year all the fruit of it shall be kodesh, for giving praise la-YHWH.  25 In the fifth year shall you eat of the fruit of it, that it may yield to you the increase of it: Ani YHWH Eloheikhem.

19:26 You shall not eat anything `al-ha-dam: neither shall you use enchantments, nor practice sorcery.  27 You shall not cut off the pe'ot of your heads, neither shall you destroy the pe'ot of your beard.  28 You shall not make any cuttings in your basar for ha-nefesh [the dead], nor print any tattoo marks on you: Ani YHWH.

19:29 Don't profane your daughter, to make her a prostitute; lest ha-aretz fall to prostitution, and ha-aretz become full of wickedness.  30 You shall keep my Shabbatot, and reverence my mikdash; Ani YHWH.

19:31 Don't turn to mediums, nor to the spiritists; don't seek them out, to be defiled by them: Ani YHWH Eloheikhem.

19:32 You shall rise up before the gray head, and honor the face of zaqen, and you shall fear your Elohim: Ani YHWH.

19:33 If a ger sojourn with you in your eretz, you shall not do him wrong.  34 Ha-ger who sojourns with you shall be to you as the home-born among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you were sojourners b'eretz Mitzrayim: Ani YHWH Eloheikhem.

19:35 You shall do no unrighteousness ba-mishpat, in measures of length, of weight, or of quantity.  36 Balances tzedek, weights tzedek, eifat tzedek, v'hin tzedek shall you have: Ani YHWH Eloheikhem, who brought you me-eretz Mitzrayim.  37 You shall observe kol chukkotai v'et-kol mishpotai and do them: Ani YHWH.

CHAPTER 20

20:1 Vai-daber YHWH el-Mosheh lemor,   2 Moreover, you shall tell b'nei Yisra'el, ish ish mi'b'nei Yisra'el, u'min ha-ger who sojourns b'Yisra'el, who gives of his zera la-Molekh; he shall surely be put to death: `am ha-aretz shall stone him with stones.  3 I also will set my face ba-ish ha-hu, and will cut him off from among `amo; because he has given of his zera to Molekh, to defile my Mikdash, and to profane my shem kadosh.  4 If `am ha-aretz do at all hide their eyes min ha-ish ha-hu, when he gives of his zera to Molekh, and don't put him to death;  5 then I will set my face ba-ish ha-hu, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all who play the harlot after him, to play the harlot acharei ha-Molekh, from among their people.

20:6 V'ha-nefesh that turns to mediums and to the spiritists, to play the harlot after them, I will even set my face ba-nefesh ha-hi, and will cut him off from among his people.  7 Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be k'doshim; ki Ani YHWH Eloheikhem.  8 You shall keep my chukkim, and do them: Ani YHWH who sanctifies you.  9 For everyone who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death: he has cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be on him.

20:10 The man who commits adultery with another man's ishshah, even he who commits adultery with his neighbor's ishshah, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.  11 The man who lies with his father's ishshah has uncovered his father's nakedness: both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be on them.  12 If a man lie with his daughter-in-law, both of them shall surely be put to death: they have created confusion; their blood shall be on them.  13 If a man lie with a male as with an ishshah, both of them have committed abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be on them.  14 If a man take an ishshah and her mother, it is wickedness: they shall be burnt ba-esh, both he and they; that there be no wickedness among you.  15 If a man lie with a b'hemah, he shall surely be put to death: and you shall kill ha-b'hemah.  16 If an ishshah approaches any b'hemah and lie down thereto, you shall kill ha-ishshah v'et ha-b'hemah: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be on them.

20:17 If a man shall take his sister, bat aviv o bat imo, and see her nakedness, and she see his nakedness; it is a shameful thing; and they shall be cut off in the sight of the children of their people: he has uncovered his sister's nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity.  18 If a man shall lie with an ishshah having her sickness ["period"], and shall uncover her nakedness; he has made naked her fountain, and she has uncovered the fountain of her blood: and both of them shall be cut off from among their people.  19 You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother's sister, nor of your father's sister; for he has made naked his close relative: they shall bear their iniquity.  20 If a man shall lie with his aunt, he has uncovered his uncle's nakedness: they shall bear their sin; they shall die childless.  21 If a man shall take his brother's ishshah, it is impurity: he has uncovered his brother's nakedness; they shall be childless.

20:22 You shall therefore keep all my chukkim, and all my mishpatim, and do them; that ha-aretz, where I bring you to dwell therein, not vomit you out.  23 You shall not walk b'chukkot ha-goy, which I cast out before you: for they did all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.  24 But I have said to you, You shall inherit their adamah, and I will give it to you to possess it, eretz flowing with milk and honey: Ani YHWH Eloheikhem who has separated you min ha`amim.  25 You shall therefore make a distinction bein ha-b'hemah ha-t'horah la-t'me'ah, and between the fowl ha-tameh la-tahor: and you shall not make your nafshot abominable ba-b'hemah or by bird, or by anything with which ha-adamah teems, which I have separated from you as tameh.  26 You shall be k'doshim to me: ki kadosh Ani YHWH, and have set you apart min ha`amim, that you should be mine.

20:27 V'ish o ishshah who is a medium or that is a spiritist shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones; their blood shall be on them.

CHAPTER 21

21:1 Vayomer YHWH el-Mosheh, Speak to ha-Kohanim, b'nei Aharon, and say to them, L'nefesh [no one] shall defile himself for the dead among his people;  2 except for his relatives that are near to him, l'imo u'l'aviv u'l'b'no u'l'vato u'l'achiv,  3 u'l'achoto ha-b'tulah, that is near to him, that has had no ish; for her may he defile himself.  4 He shall not defile himself, (being) a ba`al among his people, to profane himself.  5 They shall not make baldness on their head, neither shall they shave off the corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in their basar.  6 They shall be k'doshim l'Eloheihem, and not profane shem Eloheihem; for the ishshei of the LORD, lechem Eloheihem they do offer: therefore they shall be kodesh.  7 They shall not take an ishshah that is a harlot, or profane; neither shall they take an ishshah put away from her ish: ki kadosh hu to his Elohim.  8 You shall sanctify him therefore; for he offers lechem Eloheikha: he shall remain kadosh to you: ki kadosh Ani YHWH who sanctify you.  9 U'vat ish Kohen, if she profane herself by playing the harlot, she profanes her father: she shall be burnt ba-esh.

21:10 V'ha-Kohen ha-Gadol among his brothers, on whose head the anointing shemen is poured, and that is consecrated to put on the garments, shall not let the hair of his head go loose, nor tear his clothes;  11 neither shall he go in to any dead body, nor l'aviv u'l'imo shall he defile himself;  12 u'min-ha-Mikdash shall he not go, nor profane ha-Mikdash of his Elohim; for the crown of the anointing shemen of his Elohim is on him: Ani YHWH.  13 He shall take an ishshah in her virginity.  14 A widow, or one divorced, or a profane woman, a harlot, these shall he not take: but a b'tulah of his own people shall he take as ishshah.  15 He shall not profane his zera among his people: ki Ani YHWH who sanctifies him.

21:16 Vai-daber YHWH el-Mosheh lemor,   17 Daber el-Aharon, lemor, Whoever he be of your zera throughout their dorot that has a blemish, let him not approach to offer lechem of his Elohim.  18 Ki kol ish that has a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that has a flat nose, or any deformity,  19 o ish that is broken-footed, or broken-handed,  20 or crook-backed, or a dwarf, or that has a blemish in his eye, or is scurvy, or scabbed, or has his testicles broken;  21 kol ish mi-zera Aharon ha-Kohen, that has a blemish, shall not come near to offer ishshei YHWH: he has a blemish; he shall not come near to offer lechem of his Elohim.  22 He shall eat lechem of his Elohim, both of the kadosh k'doshim and of ha-kadosh:  23 but he shall not go in el-ha-parokhet, nor come near el-ha-Mizbeach, because he has a blemish; that he not profane my mikdashim: ki Ani YHWH who sanctifies them.  24 Vai-daber Mosheh el-Aharon v'el banav v'el-kol Yisra'el.

CHAPTER 22

22:1 Vai-daber YHWH el-Mosheh lemor,   2 Daber el-Aharon v'el-banav, that they separate themselves mi-kadshei b'nei Yisra'el, which they make holy to me, and that they not profane my shem kadosh: Ani YHWH.  3 Tell them, Kol ish he be of all your zera throughout your dorot, that approaches el-ha-kadoshim, which b'nei Yisra'el make holy la-YHWH, having his uncleanness on him, ha-nefesh ha-hi shall be cut off from before me: Ani YHWH.  4 Ish ish mi-zera Aharon is a leper, or has an issue; he shall not eat of ha-kadoshim until he is tahor.  Whoever touches anything that is tameh by nefesh [the dead], or a man whose zera goes from him;  5 or whoever touches any creeping thing, whereby he may be made tameh, or a man of whom he may take uncleanness, whatever uncleanness he has;  6 nefesh that touches any such shall be tameh `ad-ha`arev, and shall not eat min ha-kadoshim, unless he bathe his basar ba-mayim.  7 When ha-shemesh goes down, he shall be tahor; and afterward he shall eat min ha-kadoshim, because it is his lechem.  8 That which dies of itself, or is torn by animals, he shall not eat, to defile himself therewith: Ani YHWH.  9 They shall therefore keep my charge, lest they bear chet for it, and die therein, if they profane it: Ani YHWH who sanctifies them.

22:10 There shall no stranger eat of (the) kodesh (thing): a tenant of ha-Kohen, or a hired (person), shall not eat of kodesh.  11 But if a Kohen buys a nefesh with his kesef, he shall eat of it; and such as are born in his bayit, they shall eat of his lechem.  12 If a bat Kohen be married to a stranger, she shall not eat of t'rumah ha-kadoshim.  13 But if bat Kohen is a widow, or divorced, and there is no zera to her, and be returned to beit aviha, as in her youth, me-lechem aviha she may eat: but no stranger shall eat it.  14 If a man eat of the kokesh through error, then he shall put the fifth part of it to it, and shall give to ha-Kohen ha-kodesh (thing).  15 They shall not profane the kod'shei b'nei Yisra'el, which they offer la-YHWH,  16 and so cause them to bear the iniquity that brings guilt, when they eat their k'doshim: ki Ani YHWH who sanctifies them.

22:17 Vai-daber YHWH el-Mosheh lemor,  18 Daber el-Aharon and his banim v'et-kol b'nei Yisra'el, and tell them, Ish ish mi-beit Yisra'el u'min ha-ger b'Yisra'el that offers his qorban, whether it be any of their n'darim, or any of their nid'varot, which they offer l'YHWH l`olah;  19 that you may be accepted, (you shall offer) a male without blemish, of the bulls, of the sheep, or of the goats.  20 But whatever has a blemish, that shall you not offer: for it shall not be acceptable for you.  21 Whoever offers a zevach shlamim la-YHWH to accomplish a vow, or for a n'davah of the herd or of the flock, it shall be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no blemish therein.  22 Blind, or broken, or maimed, or having an open sore, or scurvy, or scabbed, you shall not offer eleh la-YHWH, nor make an ishsheh of them `al-ha-mizbeach la-YHWH.  23 Either a bull or a lamb that has any deformity or lacking in his parts, that may you offer for a n'davah; but for a neder it shall not be accepted.  24 As to bruised or crushed or broken or cut, you shall not offer la-YHWH; and (even) in your eretz you shall not do it.  25 U'mi-yad of a foreigner shall you not offer lechem Eloheikhem mi-kol eleh; because their corruption is in them, there is a blemish in them: they shall not be accepted for you.

22:26 Vai-daber YHWH el-Mosheh lemor,  27 When a bull, or a sheep, or a goat, is brought forth, then it shall be shiv`at yamim under imo; u'mi-yom ha-shmini and thenceforth it shall be accepted l'qorban ishsheh l'YHWH.  28 Whether it is a head of cattle or sheep, you shall not kill it and its young b'yom echad.  29 When you sacrifice a zevach todah la-YHWH, you shall sacrifice it that you may be accepted.  30 Ba-yom ha-hu it shall be eaten; you shall leave none of it `ad-boqer: Ani YHWH.

22:31 Therefore shall you keep my mitzvot and do them: Ani YHWH.  32 You shall not profane my shem kadosh; but I will be made kadosh among b'nei Yisra'el: Ani YHWH who makes you kadosh,  33 who brought you me-eretz Mitzrayim, to be your Elohim: Ani YHWH.

23:1 Vai-daber YHWH el-Mosheh lemor, "Daber el-b'nei Yisrael and say to them,  2 'Mo`adei YHWH which you shall proclaim to be Mikra'ei Kodesh; these are my Mo`adim.3 Sheshet yamim shall work be done: u'va-yom ha'shvi'i Shabbat Shabbaton Mikra Kodesh; you shall do no manner of work: Shabbat hu la-YHWH in all your dwellings.'"

23:4 Eleh Mo`adei YHWH, mikra'ei kodesh which you shall proclaim in their mo`adim.5 Ba-chodesh ha-rishon, on the fourteenth day of ha-chodesh between the evenings is Pesach la-YHWH.  6 On the fifteenth day la-chodesh ha-zeh (is) Chag ha-Matzot la-YHWH: shiv`at yamim you shall eat matzot.  7 Ba-yom ha-rishon shall be to you a Mikra Kodesh: you shall do no servile work.  8 But you shall bring an ishsheh la-YHWH shiv`at yamim: ba-yom ha-shvi'i (is a) Mikra Kodesh; you shall do no servile work.

23:9 Vai-daber YHWH el-Mosheh lemor,  10 Daber el-b'nei Yisrael, and tell them, When you are come el-ha-aretz which I give to you, and shall reap the harvest of it, then you shall bring an `omer of the first fruits of your harvest el-ha-kohen:  11 and he shall wave ha-`omer lifnei YHWH, to be accepted for you: on the next day after ha-Shabbat ha-kohen shall wave it.  12 In the day when you wave ha-`omer, you shall offer a he-lamb without blemish a year old for an `olah la-YHWH.  13 The minchah of it shall be two tenth (parts of an efah) of fine flour mixed with shemen, ishsheh la-YHWH for a sweet savor; and the nesekh of it shall be of yayin, the fourth (part of a) hin.  14 You shall eat neither lechem, nor parched grain, nor fresh ears, until ha-yom hazeh, until you have brought the qorban of your Elohim: (it is a) chukkat `olam throughout your dorot in all your dwellings.

23:15 You shall count to you from the next day after ha-Shabbat, from the day that you brought `omer ha-t'nufah; sheva Shabbatot shall there be complete:  16 even to the next day after ha-Shabbat ha-sh'vi`it shall you number fifty days; and you shall offer minchah chadashah la-YHWH.  17 You shall bring out of your habitations two lechem of two tenth (parts of an efah): they shall be of fine flour, they shall be baked with chametz, bikkurim la-YHWH.  18 You shall present with ha-lechem seven lambs without blemish b'nei shanah,23-18 and one young bull, and two rams: they shall be `olah la-YHWH, with their minchah, and their nesekh, (even) ishsheh of a sweet savor la-YHWH.  19 You shall offer one male goat for a chattat, and two he-lambs b'nei shanah l'zevach shlamim.  20 Ha-Kohen shall wave them with the lechem ha-Bikkurim (for a) t'nufah lifnei YHWH, with the two lambs: they shall be kodesh la-YHWH la-Kohen.  21 You shall make proclamation ha-yom hazeh; mikra kodesh shall there be to you; you shall do no servile work: (it is a) chukkat `olam in all your dwellings throughout your dorot.

23:22 When you reap the harvest of your eretz, you shall not wholly reap the pe'ot of your sadeh, neither shall you gather the gleaning of your harvest: you shall leave them for the poor, and for the sojourner: ani YHWH Eloheikhem.

23:23 Vai-daber YHWH el-Mosheh lemor,  24 Daber el-b'nei Yisra'el, lemor, ba-chodesh ha-shvi`i b'echad la-chodesh, shall be a shabbaton to you, zikhron t'ruah, mikra kodesh.  25 You shall do no servile work; and you shall offer ishsheh la-YHWH.

23:26 Vai-daber YHWH el-Mosheh lemor,  27 However on the tenth day la-chodesh ha-shvi`i hazeh (is the) Yom ha-Kippurim hu: mikra kodesh it shall be to you, and you shall afflict your nafshot and bring an ishsheh la-YHWH.  28 You shall do no manner of work ba-yom hazeh, ki Yom Kippurim hu, to make atonement for you lifneh YHWH Eloheikhem.  29 Ki kol nefesh it be who shall not be afflicted ha-yom hazeh; he shall be cut off from his people.  30 V'khol ha-nefesh it be who does any manner of work ha-yom hazeh, ha-nefesh ha-hi will I destroy from among his people.  31 You shall do no manner of work: (it is a) chukkat `olam throughout your generations in all your dwellings.  32 It shall be to you a Shabbat Shabbaton, and you shall afflict your nafshot: in the ninth day of the month ba-`erev, me-`erev `ad-`erev shall you keep your Shabbat.

23:33 Vai-daber YHWH el-Mosheh lemor,  34 Daber el-b'nei Yisra'el, lemor, On the fifteenth day la-chodesh ha-shvi`i hazeh (is) Chag ha-Sukkot shiv`at yamim la-YHWH.  35 Ba-yom ha-rishon, mikra kodesh; you shall do no servile work.  36 Shiv`at yamim you shall bring ishsheh la-YHWH: ba-yom ha-shmi'ni mikra kodesh shall be to you; and you shall bring an ishsheh la-YHWH: `atzeret hi; you shall do no servile work.

23:37 Eleh mo`adei YHWH, which you shall proclaim to be mikra'ei kodesh, to bring an ishsheh la-YHWH, `olah u'minchah zevach u'n'sakhim, each on its own day;  38 besides Shabb'tot YHWH, and besides your gifts, and besides all your n'darim, and besides all your nid'varot, which you give la-YHWH.

23:39 However on the fifteenth day of chodesh ha-shvi`i, when you have gathered in the fruits of ha-aretz, you shall keep chag YHWH shiv`at yamim: ba-yom ha-rishon Shabbaton, u'va-yom ha-shmini Shabbaton.  40 You shall take ba-yom ha-rishon the fruit of goodly [beautiful; majestic] trees, branches of palm trees, and boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and you shall rejoice lifnei YHWH Eloheikhem shiv`at yamim.  41 You shall keep it a chag la-YHWH shiv`at yamim ba-shanah: chukkat `olam throughout your dorot; ba-chodesh ha-shvi`i you shall keep it.  42 You shall dwell ba-sukkot shiv`at yamim; all who are home-born b'Yisra'el shall dwell ba-sukkot;  43 that your dorot may know that I made b'nei Yisra'el to dwell ba-sukkot, when I brought them me-eretz Mitzrayim: Ani YHWH Eloheikhem.  44 Vai-daber Mosheh et-Mo`adei YHWH el-b'nei Yisra'el.

24:10 Ben ishshah Yisr'elit, v'hu ben ish Mitzri, went out among b'nei Yisra'el; and ben ha-Yisr'elit v'ish ha-Yisra'eli strove together in the camp:  11 u'ven ha-ishshah Yisr'elit blasphemed ha-Shem, and cursed; and they brought him el-Mosheh.  V'shem imo Shlomit, bat Divri, of the tribe of Dan.  12 They put him in custody, that it might be declared to them `al-pi YHWH.

25:8 You shall number sheva Shabb'tot shanim to you, sheva shanim, seven times; and there shall be to you y'mei sheva Shabb'tot ha-shanim, forty-nine years.  9 Then shall you send abroad shofar t'ruah on the tenth day ba-chodesh ha-shvi`i; ba-Yom ha-Kippurim shall you send abroad shofar throughout all your eretz.  10 You shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty ba-aretz to all the inhabitants of it: yovel hi shall be; and you shall return every man to his possession, and you shall return every man to his mishpachah.  11 Yovel hi shall that fiftieth year be to you: you shall not sow, neither reap that which grows of itself in it, nor gather (the grapes) in it of the undressed vines.  12 Ki yovel hi; kodesh it shall be to you: you shall eat the increase of it min ha-sadeh.

25:13 Bi'sh'nat ha-yovel hazot you shall return every man to his possession.  14 If you sell anything to your neighbor, or buy of your neighbor's hand, you shall not wrong ish et-achiv.  15 According to the number of shanim achar ha-yovel you shall buy of your neighbor, (and) according to the number of years of the crops he shall sell to you.  16 According to the length of the years you shall increase the price of it, and according to the shortness of the years you shall diminish the price of it; for the number of the crops does he sell to you.  17 You shall not wrong one another; but you shall fear your Elohim: ki Ani YHWH Eloheikhem.

25:18 Therefore you shall do my chukkim and keep my mishpatim and do them; and you shall dwell `al-ha-aretz in safety.  19 Ha-aretz shall yield its fruit, and you shall eat your fill and dwell therein in safety.  20 If you shall say, What shall we eat ba-shanah ha-shvi`i?  Behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in our increase;  21 then I will command my blessing on you ba-shanah ha-shishit, and it shall bring forth fruit for the three shanim.  22 You shall sow ha-shanah ha-shminit, and eat of the fruits, the old store; until the ninth year, until its fruits come in, you shall eat the old store.  23 Ha-aretz shall not be sold in perpetuity; ki ha-aretz is mine: for you are gerim and sojourners with me.  24 U'v'khol eretz of your possession you shall grant a redemption la-aretz.

25:25 If your brother grows poor and sells some of his possession, then shall his kinsman who is next to him come, and shall redeem that which his brother has sold.  26 If a man has no one to redeem it, and he has grown rich and finds sufficient to redeem it;  27 then let him reckon the years of the sale of it, and restore the surplus la-ish to whom he sold it; and he shall return to his possession.  28 But if he isn't able to get it back for himself, then that which he has sold shall remain in the hand of him who has bought it `ad shanat ha-yovel: and ba-yovel it shall go out, and he shall return to his possession.

25:29 If a man sell a dwelling-house in a walled city, then he may redeem it within a whole year after it is sold; for a full year shall he have the right of redemption.  30 If it isn't redeemed within the space of a full year, then ha-bayit asher ba`ir shall be made sure in perpetuity to him who bought it, throughout his dorot: it shall not go out ba-yovel.  31 But the houses of the villages which have no wall round about them shall be reckoned `al-s'deh ha-aretz: they may be redeemed, and they shall go out ba-yovel.  32 Nevertheless the cities of ha-L'viyyim, the houses of the cities of their possession, may ha-L'viyyim redeem at any time.  33 If one of ha-L'viyyim redeems, then the house that was sold, and the city of his possession, shall go out ba-yovel; for the houses of the cities of ha-L'viyyim are their possession among b'nei Yisra'el.  34 But ha-sadeh of the suburbs of their cities may not be sold; for it is their perpetual possession.

25:35 If your brother has grown poor, and his hand fail with you; then you shall uphold him: (as) a stranger and a sojourner shall he live with you.  36 Take no interest of him or increase, but fear your Elohim; that your brother may live with you.  37 You shall not give him your kesef on interest, nor give him your victuals for increase.  38 Ani YHWH Eloheikhem, who brought you forth me-eretz Mitzrayim, to give you eretz Kana`an, (and) to be your Elohim.

25:39 If your brother has grown poor with you, and sell himself to you; you shall not make him to serve as an `eved.  40 As a hired servant, and as a sojourner, he shall be with you; he shall serve with you to the year of jubilee:  41 then shall he go out from you, he and his children with him, and shall return to his own mishpachah, and to the possession of his avot shall he return.  42 For they are my `avadim, whom I brought forth me-eretz Mitzrayim: they shall not be sold as `avadim.  43 You shall not rule over him with rigor, but shall fear Eloheikha.  44 As for your `avadim, and your bondmaids, whom you shall have; of ha-goyim that are round about you, of them shall you buy bondservants and bondmaids.  45 Moreover of the children of the strangers who sojourn among you, them you may buy, and of their mishpachot who are with you, which they have conceived in your eretz: and they shall be your property.  46 You shall make them an inheritance for your banim after you, to hold for a possession; them you may enslave l`olam: but over your brothers, b'nei Yisra'el, you shall not rule, one over another, with severity.

25:47 If a ger v'toshav with you has grown rich, and your ach has grown poor beside him, and sell himself l'ger toshav with you, or to the stock of mishpachat ger;  48 after that he is sold he may be redeemed: one of his brothers may redeem him;  49 or his uncle, or his uncle's son, may redeem him, or any who is a close relative to him of his mishpachah may redeem him; or if he has grown rich, he may redeem himself.  50 He shall reckon with him who bought him from the year that he sold himself to him `ad sh'nat ha-yuvel: v'hayah kesef [the price] of his sale shall be according to the number of shanim; according to the time of a hired man shall he be with him.  51 If there be yet rabbot shanim, according to them he shall give back the price of his redemption mi-kesef of his purchase.  52 If few are left ba-shanim `ad-sh'nat ha-yuvel, then he shall reckon with him; according to his years shall he repay his redemption.  53 As a hireling shanah b'shanah shall he be with him: he shall not rule with severity over him in your sight.  54 If he isn't redeemed by these (means), then he shall go out bi'sh'nat ha-yovel, he, and his banim with him.  55 For to me b'nei Yisra'el (are) `avadim; they are my `avadim whom I brought forth me-eretz Mitzrayim: Ani YHWH Eloheikhem.

CHAPTER 26

26:1 You shall make you no idols, neither shall you raise up an engraved image, or a pillar, neither shall you place any figured stone in your land, to bow down to it: ki Ani YHWH Eloheikhem.  2 You shall keep my Shabb'tot, and reverence my Mikdash: Ani YHWH.

(33) PARASHAT B'CHUKKOTAI
In my statutes
26:3 - 27:34

26:3 If you walk in my chukkot, and keep my mitzvot, and do [i.e., work at] them;  4 then I will give your rains in their season, and ha-aretz shall yield its increase, v`etz ha-sadeh shall yield their fruit.  5 Your threshing shall reach to the (time of the) vintage, and the vintage shall reach to the sowing time;[A] and you shall eat your lechem to the full, and dwell in your aretz safely.  6 I will give shalom ba-aretz, and you shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will cause chayyah ra`ah to cease min-ha-aretz, neither shall the sword go through your aretz.  7 You shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.  8 Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall chase ten thousand; and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.  9 I will have respect to you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and will establish my b'rit with you.  10 You shall eat old store long kept, and you shall bring forth the old mi-p'nei chadash.  11 I will set my Mishkan among you: and my nefesh won't abhor you.  12 I will walk among you, and will be to you as Elohim, and you shall be my people.  13 Ani YHWH, Eloheikhem, who brought you forth me-eretz Mitzrayim, that you should not be their `avadim; and I have broken the bars of your yoke, and made you go upright.

26:14 But if you will not listen to me, and will not do kol ha-mitzvot ha-eleh;  15 and if you shall reject my chukkot, and if your nefesh abhors my mishhpatim, so that you will not do all my mitzvot, but break my b'rit;  16 I also will do this to you: I will appoint terror over you, even consumption and fever, that shall consume the eyes, and make the nefesh to pine away; and you shall sow your zera in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.  17 I will set my face against you, and you shall be struck before your enemies: those who hate you shall rule over you; and you shall flee when none pursues you.  18 If you will not yet for these things listen to me, then I will chastise you seven times more for your chattot.  19 I will break the pride of your power: and I will make your shamayim as iron, and your eretz ka-n'choshet;  20 and your strength shall be spent in vain; for your eretz shall not yield its increase, v`etz ha-aretz shall not yield their fruit.

26:21 If you walk contrary to me, and won't listen to me, I will bring seven times more plagues on you according to your chattot.  22 I will send chayyat ha-sadeh among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you few in number; and your d'rakhim shall become desolate.

26:23 If by these things you won't be reformed to me, but will walk contrary to me;  24 then will I also walk contrary to you; and I will strike you, even I, seven times for your chattot.  25 I will bring a sword on you, that shall execute the vengeance of ha-b'rit; and you shall be gathered together within your cities: and I will send the pestilence among you; and you shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.  26 When I break your staff of lechem, ten nashim shall bake your lekhem in one oven, and they shall deliver your lekhem again by weight: and you shall eat, and not be satisfied.

26:27 If you won't for all this listen to me, but walk contrary to me;  28 then I will walk contrary to you in wrath; and I also will chastise you seven times for your chattot.  29 You shall eat basar of your banim, and basar of your banot shall you eat.  30 I will destroy your high places, and cut down your sun-images, and cast your dead bodies on the bodies of your idols; and my nefesh shall abhor you.  31 I will make your cities a waste, and will bring your sanctuaries to desolation, and I won't smell the savor of your sweet odors.  32 I will bring ha-aretz into desolation; and your enemies that dwell therein shall be astonished at it.  33 You will I scatter among ha-goyim, and I will draw out the sword after you: and your eretz shall be a desolation, and your cities shall be a waste.

26:34 Then shall the land enjoy its Shabbatot, as long as it lies desolate, and you are in the eretz of your enemies; even then shall ha-aretz rest, and enjoy its Shabbatot.  35 As long as it lies desolate it shall have rest, even the rest which it didn't have in your Shabbatot, when you lived on it.  36 As for those who are left of you, I will send a faintness into their heart b'artzot of their enemies: and the sound of a driven leaf shall chase them; and they shall flee, as one flees from the sword; and they shall fall when none pursues.  37 They shall stumble one on another, as it were before the sword, when none pursues: and you shall have no power to stand before your enemies.  38 You shall perish ba-goyim, and eretz of your enemies shall eat you up.  39 Those who are left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in your enemies' lands; and also in the iniquities of their avot shall they pine away with them.

26:40 They shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their avot, in their trespass which they trespassed against me, and also that, because they walked contrary to me,  41 I also walked contrary to them, and brought them b'eretz of their enemies: if then their uncircumcised heart be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity;  42 then will I remember my b'rit with Ya`akov; and also my b'rit with Yitzchak, and also my b'rit with Avraham will I remember; and I will remember ha-aretz.  43 Ha-aretz also shall be left by them, and shall enjoy its Shabbatot, while it lies desolate without them: and they shall accept of the punishment of their iniquity; because, even because they rejected my mishpatim, and their nefesh abhorred my chukkim.  44 Yet for all that, when they are b'eretz of their enemies, I will not reject them, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my b'rit with them; ki Ani YHWH, Eloheihem;  45 but I will for their sakes remember the b'rit of their ancestors, whom I brought forth me-eretz Mitzrayim in the sight of ha-goyim, that I might be to them l'Elohim: Ani YHWH.

26:46 Eleh ha-chukkim v'ha-mishpatim v'ha-torot which YHWH made between him u'vein b'nei Yisra'el b'Har Sinai b'yad Mosheh.

A (5) Amos 9:13.

PEREQ ‏כז‎
CHAPTER 27

27:1 Vai-daber YHWH el-Mosheh lemor,  2 Daber el-b'nei Yisra'el, and tell them, When an ish shall utter a neder of nafshot la-YHWH according to your valuation,  3 then your valuation shall be of the male from twenty years old even to sixty years old, even your valuation shall be fifty shekel kesef, b'shekel ha-Kodesh [the Sanctuary].  4 If it be a female, then your valuation shall be thirty shekel.  5 If it be from five years old even to twenty years old, then your valuation shall be of the male twenty shekel, and for the female ten shekel.  6 If it be from a month old even to five years old, then your valuation shall be of the male five sh'kalim kasef, and for the female your valuation shall be three sh'kalim kasef.  7 If it be from sixty years old and upward; if it be a male, then your valuation shall be fifteen shakel, and for the female ten sh'kalim.  8 But if he be poorer than your valuation, then he shall be set lifnei ha-Kohen, and ha-Kohen shall value him; according to the ability of him who vowed shall ha-Kohen value him.

27:9 V'im b'hemah, whereof men offer a korban la-YHWH, all that any man gives of such la-YHWH shall be kodesh.  10 He shall not alter it, nor change it, tov b'ra o ra b'tov: and if he shall at all change b'hemah bi-v'hemah, then both it and that for which it is changed shall be kodesh.  11 V'im kol-b'hemah t'me'ah, of which they do not offer a korban la-YHWH, then he shall set ha-b'hemah lifnei ha-Kohen;  12 v'ha-Kohen shall value it, ben tov u'vein ra: as you ha-Kohen value it, so shall it be.  13 But if he will indeed redeem it, then he shall add the fifth part of it to your valuation.

27:14 When a man shall sanctify his bayit kodesh la-YHWH, then ha-Kohen shall value it, bein tov u'vein ra: as ha-Kohen shall value it, so shall it stand.  15 If he who sanctified it will redeem his bayit, then he shall add the fifth part of kesef of your value to it, and it shall be his.

27:16 If a man shall sanctify la-YHWH part of the sadeh of his possession, then your value shall be according to the sowing of it: the sowing of a chomer of barley (shall be valued) at fifty shekel kasef.  17 If he sanctify his field from the year of ha-yovel, according to your value it shall stand.  18 V'im achar ha-yovel he sanctifies his sadeh, then ha-Kohen shall reckon to him ha-kesef according to ha-shanim that remain `ad sh'nat ha-yovel; and an abatement shall be made from your value.  19 If he who sanctified ha-sadeh will indeed redeem it, then he shall add the fifth part of kesef of your value to it, and it shall be assured to him.  20 If he will not redeem ha-sadeh, or if he has sold ha-sadeh l'ish acher, it shall not be redeemed any more:  21 but ha-sadeh, when it goes out ba-yovel, shall be kodesh la-YHWH as a sadeh devoted; the possession of it shall be to ha-Kohen.  22 If he sanctify la-YHWH a sadeh which he has bought, which is not of ha-sadeh of his possession;  23 then ha-Kohen shall reckon to him the worth of your valuation `ad sh'nat yovel: and he shall give your valuation ba-yom ha-hu, kodesh la-YHWH.  24 Bi-sh'nat yovel, ha-sadeh shall return to him of whom it was bought, even to him to whom the possession of ha-aretz belongs.  25 All your valuations shall be b'shekel (of) ha-Kodesh [sanctuary]: twenty gerah yih'yeh ha-shakel.

27:26 Only the firstborn among b'hemot, which is made a firstborn la-YHWH, no man shall sanctify it; whether it be ox or sheep, la-YHWH hu.  27 V'im ba-b'hemah ha-t'me'ah, then he shall ransom it according to your valuation, and shall add to it the fifth part of it: or if it isn't redeemed, then it shall be sold according to your valuation.

27:28 Notwithstanding, no devoted thing, that a man shall devote la-YHWH of all that he has, whether me-adam u'v'hemah u'mi-s'deh of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed: every devoted thing is kodesh kadashim la-YHWH.  29 No one devoted, who shall be devoted min-ha-adam, shall be ransomed; he shall surely be put to death.

27:30 All the tithe of ha-aretz, mi-zera ha-aretz, mi-p'ri ha-`etz -- la-YHWH hu: kodesh la-YHWH.  31 If a man will redeem anything of his tithe, he shall add to it the fifth part of it.  32 All the tithe of the herd or the flock, whatever passes under the rod, the tenth shall be kodesh la-YHWH.  33 He shall not search bein tov la-ra, neither shall he change it: and if he change it at all, then both it and that for which it is changed shall be kodesh; it shall not be redeemed.

27:34 Eleh ha-mitzvot which YHWH commanded Mosheh el-b'nei Yisra'el b'Har Sinai.
